A6 or M6 in So Cal?
So last month(5/20) I threw my deposit down at Connell in Costa Mesa. Great experience, excellent service. They had a 2SS M6 on the lot at the time and let me drive it. I just have to say WOW I have not had so much fun in a car in years. The test drive sealed the deal for me.
Now I have a bit of a wait before my order even gets pulled and I am really having a hard time with the A6 or M6 choice. I loved the M6 and if I lived someplace else(with less traffic) it would be a no brainer. But alas I do live in So Cal and the traffic never stops. Did anyone else in a metro area have a hard time deciding? If so what was your choice and what led you to that choice? |

Simple decision for me...I went Auto due to bad knees...out East of San Diego there are the mountains on Hwy 8....still have the tap-shift though. Good luck and get what feels right to you. They have a V6 auto w/tapshift if you want to get a feel for that, at Bob Baker in El Cajon off of Arnele. Nice ride and the power is amazing.
Like I said, go with what feels right for you.

HOLY COW dude!!! Finally, somebody else who has ordered from Connell!!! I ordered from them in late February, and now there are only two orders ahead of mine!!! I was also going to test drive the 2SS they had, but I don't know how to drive stick :( so I had to pass
![]() Anyways, back to your question. I can't drive stick, so easy decision for me. Going with Auto, but also because i want to let my family drive it as well. Good luck with your order!!!

I have been an auto guy for a long time. I never had tapshift before but with normal autos, you can never get the gear you want at the right time. I had a 6 speed for 1 year and I love it! Unitl I had to drive to downtown LA everyday..... But I do not go there anymore but I do not have that car anymore and I miss my 6 speed. MT is just lots of fun!
This is 422hp car. Its build for speed. I'm not sure the tap auto is fun or not but I know the 6 speed is lots of fun most of the time. But its up to you on how you feel and what you can deal with everyday. My wife drove MT everyday for 10 years, so why I can I? Plus you will have the full V8 sound everytime! No need to worry about switching from 4 to 8 and you can "rev" out people if you like that type of thing. MT is for me!

I live in OC and I got the SS M6. The reasons I went with M6 was that it's cheaper, no AFM, and from what people told me, it's a lot more fun to drive a manual.

M6 in So Cal!
For the fun of it... What an excellent reason!
I have always driven a stick. In heavy traffic, I try not to shift, so it's never really been a problem for me. I think it comes down to this. If you want to go NOW, you get the M6. If you want go NOW, but are willing to wait, you get the A6. |

![]() Hey guys who dealt with Connell....! Who did you deal with and what was your experience? When i'm ready...this will be my 2nd purchase through them (Avalanche in 02). They allow GMS and my 1st experience with them was really good so they get my business again! ps...go sign up for the So. Calif. meet and greet if you havent' done so already! http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25336 |

Well right now is about a 70/30 split for me. 70 on the M6 side. I think because this will not be a daily driver I will go for the M6. If I were using it as a daily driver then I would have to think long and hard as I spend about 3 hours a day in LA traffic.

M6 in So Cal!
I do 76 miles a day total, but the drive in is at 10:15 PM, so I don't see much traffic then. In the morning, I get about twenty minutes of slow, then it's pretty much 6th gear the rest of the way.
Oh man... If I was doing 3 hours, I'd be leaning towards the A6, too! |

I worked with Philip Ramos at Connell. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience so far.

I was told they have a stack of orders waiting. I hope its not over 100..That could mean a long wait for me. I think I will call my salesperson later this week and try to get a feel for where I am at in line..
