Haha just messin'!

Yea probably to check for rattles and what not!! I would definately ask for and explanation if your the slightest bit concerned with the miles!!
Probably took the same route they make with normal PDI inspections! Now I'm not saying they did a PDI, just drove it on their typical route!

Good luck!!

Time to rip someone a new asshole!
STOP it! You would have been complaining even more if it had came back with a squeak or rattle....
The dash cover replacement isn't easy and there are more than a few connection points.
Heres an idea! If you don't want someone driving your car, fix it yourself.
Everyone on this sight make dealers out to be the anti christ get over yourselfs....

I'm not going to react about it. I just needed to vent to someone that cared. I'll have to be more specific about vehicle usage on these kinds of things. I just like to be aware of what they do.

It isn't a dash replacement, only a trim piece on the dash. Shouldn't take but a few minutes for a tech to replace. No need to drive the car at all really. If it was a full dash, I'd say it needs to be driven, but on the other hand, maybe its standard procedure to check for proper operation of the launch control in each ZL1 that comes into the shop.

I would check under the wheel wells! In 2002, my cousin bought a brand new WS6 Trans Am and took it into the dealer for a routine maintenance. When he went in to pick it up, there were 15 more miles on it and burnt rubber under the wheel wells. Needless to say, there was an ass chewing AND someone got fired! Not to scare you, but all these guys saying it can't happen...it did to my cousin's TA.

I am sorry for the inconveniences that you may have experienced with your dealership's service. However, they may have had to check to see if it would make any noise and such after it was replaced to make sure everything was in check. I will go ahead and document this into our database where many departments of GM can access the information.

Thanks Brandon. I really do like the service guy that helped me. I just hope some kid in the shop just didn't take it for an unnecessary ride and beat on it.
