zl1 front license plate help!

I dont have a zl1 , BUT i have the zl1 front end conversiona nd i just got stopped by the cops today for not having a front license plate.. Anyone have any suggestions of a front license plate that doesnt involve me drilling into my bumper? I found his but not sure how it would be on the zl1 bumper. http://www.hidetheplate.com/

I have a friend that has one of those and it works well.

Even in the video, the car they show it on has the GM Ground effects option/front lip splitter.

Don't see any reason why it wouldn't work on the ZL1.

I ordered one a few days ago. I don't have the zl1 bumper but I have a screen scene splitter, I don't see why it wouldn't work IMO. I bought it bc I will be converting to the zl1 bumper soon, and I wanna take that ugly bracket off the dealer put on my car.
Or u could do this

No wrenches or tools required to install the tag bracket.. best part is I can easily remove the front tag with a pr of snips for car shows and zip tie it back on after.

There is another thread about front license plates without drilling the bumper.

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=226592
I thought that guys idea was really great and you don't lose any ground clearance. He gives you a list of the parts and where to get them. I think he said it'll cost around $32. Check that one out I think you might like it.

Search the regular forum for "An alternative for front plate" there was a member (forgive me for not remembering who) who used a plate bracket made for a C6 vett by "top flight reproductions" part number 0010003-1 $99.99 nice because you can drill 2 holes in the mounting bracket and use 2 existing Torks bolts / screws under the splitter to mount it. the plate bracket also comes off with 2 wing nuts. great set up just installed it on my ZL over the weekend. hope this helped (sorry no pics of mine yet but the above mentioned post shows some)

I was the one that used a C6 Grand Sport bracket that is two pieces. Drilled two holes in the bracket and used existing screws in the splitter to mount it. Two wing nuts and it's off.

The only issue I ran into was the cheap wing nuts that came with it. They stripped out right away. I replaced them with brass wingnuts.

First off Thank you Dan for the great idea and great post! I mounted mine in the center of the splitter. After the fact I started thinking about if by doing so am I messing up the air flow but for normal around town driving I think it will be ok. Thanks for the tip on the brass wing nuts!
