Anyone stripped their ZL1s yet?

Wondering if anyone has taken the seats out or stripped the car even more removing AC and other components and what difference they have seen on times and handling with the weight reduction.

No this car needs a diet... It's 4k+ Why wouldn't anyone who's about to throw in 15k in modifications seriously consider weight reduction as an option?

Seats are what almost 300 pounds...? No Racing Seats as an option.

Just wondering if anyone here is that hardcore... I know I am considering stripping mine next Summer given how heavy it is.

I couldn't imagine doing that to mine. I want to go as fast as I can, of course obeying the speed limit. And be able to take my wife out for ice cream on a Saturday night. I'm not paying all that money to strip a lot of it out. The car is heavy but you knew that when you bought it. Good luck if you decide to do it though.

Should have bought a miata if you wanted a light road car. Makes no sense at all to spend 60k dollars on a car to gut it out.

Buy a 1LE and do it. That makes more sense.

I don't have a ZL1 so you can just ignore my opinion all you want, but stripping a car of ANY weight is the single best modification. It improves literally every aspect of performance. Ya, it may be a $60k car, but it's a free mod and things like seats are just as easy to install as they are to uninstall. It's not like it's permanent and can't be undone with 15 minutes of your spare time. I say do it. You might not notice anything at first, but you will definitely notice when you go to throw all that dead weight back in.

I have removed all fenders, 3 seats, trunk lid, 4 lug nuts on each wheel, and sanded the paint off of what is left on the car. I left the hood on since its alluminum and CF. I couldnt get the damn roof off so it stays. Took off about a thousand pounds. Looks like shit, but I do the quarter a full 1 second faster now.

I don't know why there is all this bashing

Some people might just buy this car to gut it out and make it to a meaner machine.

I'm honest shocked someone like JRE, Nickey-Chicago or some other company hasn't yet

or if they are..we don't know about it.
