Every time I see a Vette I hope it's a hot chick driving it, but it ends up being 70 year old man.

I'd pick the ZL1.

Keep it and wait for the c7. At least that's what I would do, I'm hopping to find a deal on a grand sport as people start selling them for the c7

Big move, the ZL1 gains power through break-in. For me the ZL1 won out over a GS. I'm 6'6" and no Vette can handle my size. The ZL1 is perfect for me.

Get the ZL1, you won`t regret it, the test drive doesn`t do you any justice, you have to drive it a bit more and you`ll be glad you got it.

Get the GS. The ZL1 is overrated in my opinion. For the price youre better off in a vette.

I'm 6'2 and my head has hit the roof. So this can't be true. That is a negative with Camaros being the lack of head room.

If you are considering the ZL1 mostly for the 4 seats, keep the Corvette! The Camaro is a 2 seat car with "some extra space back there".

You need to adjust the seat down. I'm 6' 3" and my head is about 4" from the roof. Seat is not at full bottom position too.

Ozer,
If it makes you feel any better, you are the first customer to actually drive that car. You see I work there and I was one of the only sales people to actually get to drive that car (just to put some gas in it).

Funny story. When you called the other day, myself and the unamed sales person you are working with that took your call. Took it because we both told each other to answer your call. Being that I just took several wierd calls I told him to answer it lol. He is a great guy though.

Anyways as far as the two cars go, it is like apples to oranges. My wife laughs because I always come home and go back and forth between the Vette and ZL1.
In my case my kids are grown up and it's just the wife and I. So I would go a Vette for the weekend toy. In your case with a little one, I would go with the ZL1. So you can have a fun cruiser on the weekend with the family plus have a great toy for some spirited driving when it's just you.

Thanks everyone for all your responses! It proved to be a very tough decision to make for me. I thought 580hp would win me over easily, but looks like they're not much apart in terms of performance. Needless to say, the car will not wait forever for me, so if I can't decide soon, it probably be decided 'on my behalf'; I don't think sleep will come easy tonight

Thanks for the reply! I have had dealings with another dealer in your city last year, and was very much outraged with the experience. I was bracing for the worst, but you guys turned out to be very friendly. It also turns out I bought my Corvette from your sales manager's brother who works in another dealer close to my home; small world

For me I wanted a z06 (well really I wanted a performance car again haven't had one since 07 when I sold it to pay cash to build my garage) being married my wife wanted some say in the decision and she does not like the look of the vette at all so when I first heard of the zl1 I showed her a picture of the car in jan 11 and she said get it so performance wise it's not what I wanted but we both love the looks of it and with the money I saved I will be adding power and tweaking suspension slightly it won't be the z06 but it will be a monster I am happy with
