I didn't do the inside of mine, overspray got inside there, don't notice the inside of the rim at all.
overspray litterally wipes off even after it sets, but i took off my wheels and taped them at the edge of the lip(on the inside) and painted them. didn't peel the tape off for 24 hours. found it alot easier to let it get cured for the most part before removing the tape because of tackiness

I had thought about that. Just being stingy I guess. Wish they had a smaller size than a whole roll though.

I did the same thing after the first one except I taped in plastic grocery bags up to the edge. I do clean inside my rims every wash and the rough grippy texture of dried dip on the inside would have bugged me. Ultimately of course I decided my dip project wasn't perfect, and I curbed my passenger rims afterwards as well, so it all came off.

I want to plasti dip my side gills tomorrow but I want it to be the thin outline. Not fill the whole gill. Any ideas on how to do this? I am hoping someone can scan in a set that they dont have on the car yet.. Then I could just stencil it

I did a little experiment with plasti dip the other day.

I took an old pad lock and dipped it, put 4 coats on it, then took some spray paint and sprayed over the plasti dip. put a couple of coats on and let it dry. peeled right off, no issues or anything, couldnt tell I did anything to it afterwards.

My only question is, has anyone done hood spears with it? How "sharp" can you get them and does the sharp/fine point cause any peeling issues.

Has anyone polished their dip projects?? That might be my next experiment.

Ya I did hoop spears on my SW RS and LOVE them!! I am definitely a perfectionist when it comes to my car. I would give myself a 9/10 on them for sharpness. They were a little hard to do, but I could give you some tips and post a pic how they look if you like. If you could have someone help you remove the tape you could prob get them perfect.

might be an odd question but has anyone plasti dipped over plasti dip? And what I mean specifically for example, plasti dip for example the bow tie one color, then dip the otter edge for example in the blaze orange.

You guys with plastidip on your wheels, any of you have any problems when getting tires changed? Did you have to redo them?

Used Plasti-Dip to do my side-Stripes. Turned out great. I messed up one of them (I'm a perfectionist, it just wasn't up to my standards) so I let it dry, peeled it off, cleaned it up, then re-did it. Plasti-Dip is awesome.

Even with 6 coats, you tend to put a lot more on the meat of the rim, you need to make sure you are hitting the edges and the middle evenly.

Plasti dip doesnt come out like normal spray paint either, so one you have pretty much covered the original color, its pretty hard to tell how much is coming out, so you later coats may not be as thick as you think
