Now, I'm averaging 17.25 - 19 MPG over the course of a tank.

Not a huge deal, but I found it interesting.
How does it sound with your AFM? I have GMPP mufflers on mine. Thinking about cutting out the resonators up front but worried about the drone.

Because in order to be able to sell their cars GM needs to meet noise emission standards.

Anybody have any recordings of what it sounds like with the muffler delete? I have the GMPP mufflers as well instead of the stock ones for the automatic.

How does a muffler delete sound with AFM? Or did you tune it out?

You don't get more power from a muffler delete. Just sound and as mentioned a slight curb weight reduction.

I would think you rev a muffler delete car less to avoid attracting cops.
Less rev, better mpg.

That's my only problem, if I drive at night I need to behave...

Most will NOT like the sound when AFM kicks in.

It will sound like your average ricer (fart can sound).
It was bad enough for me, I had AFM tuned out.

You can think that but hearing the rumble is awesome.
My gas mpg went down alittle after my muffler delete, mainly because whenever the afm kicks in I will goose the gas to shut it off. I do most driving now with the paddle shifting and I really enjoy downshifting to a light and let the engine do the braking, the rev match and gurgle thru the exhaust always turns heads.I have never had a cop give me any trouble when I do that and sometimes I get a thumbs up from them. No need to live in fear of the traffic ticket....

I've yet to hear an SS with a muffler delete but with mine it sounds similar to an infinity/Nissan mix... I think with a CAI and headers it will drop in tone a little

Also the ls3 and the l99 both sounds different. I do believe stock l99 is a lot quieter and the ls3 is louder.
Right now I have muffler deleted and CAI.

I put some cherry bombs on mine, I plan on getting a resonated x-pipe the drone is a pain. The better mpg's is most likely due to weight dropping, or a lighter foot now that you can actually hear the exhaust. I found that my foot has gotten slightly heavier.
