I've been told the stock plug wires may crap out soon after header install, due to their orientation putting them a bit too close to the new, more substantial pipes.
I've got a misfire at the moment- got new plugs, but going to replace plug wires as well, to be thorough. Any suggestions?

If you're worried, just get sleeves.

In other words, the stock ones are fine.

I've had my stock wires on with my LT's for almost 30k miles.
What headers are you running? I've got BBK's and haven't had an issue. Did a wire make contact with one of your pipes? If that's the case, I'd look into heat shields. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The stock wires work just fine but aftermarket wires work great too. The key when adding headers is making sure the wires won't have any contact with the headers. A set of wire boots will usually keep them from burning up and generally it's just a plug or two that ends up being an issue.

Revo....to answer your question.....Granatelli wires is what you want!!! They even have a "high heat" variation that is really sweet......but they are expensive!!!

I just got the Granatelli 0 OHM high heat wires from Jannetty Racing. Looking forward to get them on a long with my headers. As stated above, they will cost you more than the others, but thats what you have to do to get the best.

Cool, thanks for the input fellas. I'm not seeing any direct contact with the wires so far, so it could be just a plug. The headers are 1 7/8" stainless from XS power...
Will look into some sleeves for sure, can't pay for granatellis at the moment.

What wire sleeves is everybody using?
I just got some new plug wires so I might as well throw these on as well.

I went with MTI hot spark wires colored to match my engine bay.

Did you actually ohm them out? I have an almost new set of MSD's I bought over a year ago. I checked them and they were all over the place. The stock wires were pretty consistant, the Granatellis were as advertised. I don't mind resistance that is high like the stock wires but I do like consistancy. I have a post on here somewhere showing the measured resistance of each set.
