Hot Laps of the 9 - Fastest to Slowest - Same day, same track, same driver.

7th - Ford Shelby GT500
6th - Chevy Camaro ZL1
5th - McLaren MP4-12C
4th - Subaru BRZ
3rd - Nissan GT-R
2nd - Mercedes-Benz C63
1st - Porsche 911 Carrera S

We may have beat the GT500, but this quote really hurts "It's slower than the Shelby, makes less power, and turned in a worse lap time. Not only that, but we were in unanimous agreement that the Shelby and its quicker turn-in was more fun to drive."
The fact that a Camaro is competing with cars of this level is AMAZING!!

911. It always is, and for good reason (no offense intended to any of the rest) - it's a 911. The germans have had that one figured out for a long time now. It's the other car I ~almost~ got instead of ordering the ZL1.

These results for the GT500 and ZL1 were previously released by Motor Trend in June (http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...0/viewall.html). The GT500 had the faster first lap, but, due to brake fade in the GT500, the ZL1 had the faster last lap, and the ZL1's lap times were very consistent with all of them being within 0.2 seconds. The Motor Trend comparison concluded that the ZL1 was the better vehicle.

Ford guys can say, well, what if the ZL1 ran more than 1 lap on the only roadcourse win it had against the Shelby, it would have lost because of heat soak. Come on man, just face the music like the rest of us. It doesn't make you a lesser man.

Judging by the smile on Randy's face, I'm thinking the 911 is in first place followed by the C63. A little bit surprised by the C63 - it's chassis has been called unruly by some reviews but this black edition seems bred for the track. I predict the ZL1 will come out ahead of the Ford but something tells me the BRZ is going to slip ahead of both. The Jaguar and Lamborghini seemed a little twitchy. The Lamborghini boiled its brake fluid, really?
I hope they do the side-by-side drag race on Friday - it's so absurd you have to love it!

Me too. This is one issue of Motor Trend, I look forward to buying each year. I am glad the ZL1 made the list!

I thought these were all supposed to be run same day. . . yet the gt500 and zl1 runs are from months ago. What a crock.
