Windmill-Watkins

If you guys are going to the track after the Windmill, someone PM me who wants to work with the track on setting up the laps. As of now Oct 6th is OK. I told them 20-30 cars. I'm not in town that weekend so someone else will need to take this on. Mike Evranian is now at mid-Ohio and his replacement is Rob Roessel. I'll give you his contact info via the PM.

Olcott show

For anyone that is going and coming from the east, your more than welcome to meet up at my house. Then we can make the drive and meet up with some of the buffalo crew and we all can roll in together. As a note, make sure your on the early side as cars are known to line up at 7am! Its a big show and has pulled over a 1000 cars. Im going to post in the buffalo thread to organize a time. So if anyone is interested let me know.

Maybe MClark10 is making a point, or maybe he doesn't see the point in updating the events if everyone keeps posting all the info in the current thread page ??? Running the site thread and club is a lot of work, we may be making it more work for him. I don't know.

Olcott Info

We met at the K&K on rt 78 and Old Niagara Road (right across from the Wyndham lawn school) last year. This seemed to work well as its a crosspoint from people coming from RT 31 (East) and people coming from the Buffalo area, then we can just run up 78 North till be get to the park. It's 11 miles from there to the show. If we roll out at 7:30 and get there by 8 we should be good. If anyone is running behind let us know so we can get a head count and save spots if possible.

I agree again spike....since the shows are Posted on page 1 there is no sense in posting everything again On the current page. Yes people are going to talk about shows but we don't need every bit of info pasted 10 times about the specifics of a show. This clogs the pages up too.

Hey whos going to olcot? (couldn't help myself)

OK, now that more people are aware that a front page exists, it might get some use. Even though it took 2 days for someone to notice, or at least acknowledge, the events section was closed, LOL. From day one it's been post info for a show in the thread and if it draws enough interest, it gets put on the front page and maintained from there. That said, there's no way we're going to post every show in the state, just the ones of interest. Also, I'll only put a show on the front page if requested.

Once the show info is maintained from the front page, I guess I just don't see the necessity of continued maintenance if full page show ads are constantly re-posted in the main thread. I feel like I'm just wasting my time. If everyone likes it better that way we can do that. It's less work for me. But, if you want the club to attend a certain show and want the info on the front page, all you have to do is request it. I have absolutely no problem putting anything on there. However, it makes it worth while to me if when someone posts a question about a show that is on the front page, they would be directed to the front page instead of someone posting a full page re-post about a show that is already there. For you guys discussing meet up times and places , if you want that info on the front page, let me know and I'll place that there as well.

Also, everyone who sent me a PM about joining this club got this reply:
Quote:
Please go to page 1 post 1 of the UpstateC5 thread under the section 'How do I become an UpstateC5 member?' PM me the requested info and I will add you to the member list. Check that post regularly for events and updates.
Welcome,
Mark
Sorry for the rant and I certainly don't want to seem to be a hardass, guess I just have OCD about being organized.
Thanks for your patience. Events section is re-opened.
