The injen, Solo combo is great ! I have this on my coupe and have seen a 4 mpg increase when cruising. But with this combo trying to stay off the throttle is a little difficult.
I will also be going with this on my vert !

This may be a dumb question, but will the Injen CAI fit the 2011 models?
I see a few people are running this CAI on the 2011 LS (Which is what I have). So, I just want to double check for reassurance.

Did anybody ever had any problems with the intake sucking in water (since it routs into your fender next to the wheel)?

Nobody that I have ever heard on this forum has had a problem with the INJEN and the Camaro. You would need to drive thru more water than you should with a Camaro to create a problem.

There's a lot of plastic between the filter and the elements outside. But if you're nerveous, the injen hydroshield is awesome. Got mine and tested it by putting my hand inside it and holding it under a faucet. My hand was dry as a bone. If you're in deep enough water to hydrolock this thing, you've got bigger problems to worry about.

I just wanted to verify-after installation, does the MAF sensor plug need to be unplugged in order to remove the engine cover? Is it supposed to be a tight fitment in this area?

The MAF is a tight fit. I usually wet the rubber gasket a little to help.
