Okay, but my question still stands. Where is the final sale price reported to GM? Unless I'm mistaken, the profit on a car is the dealership's, not GM's.

If it's not, how do you expect them to get involved?

hence...... the whole problem

GM should know the final sale price and perform follow-ups and satisfaction surveys

BestBuy does price matching... now there's a concept

right now there is no accountability for the dealerships... it is chaos ...

...............and instead of fixing the problem..........they say that it is not their fault because if some commerce law.

So you want the manufacturer to govern how much profiit a dealer (owned by an individual) can make?

I am saying that it shouldn't be owned and entirley operated by an individual that doesn't have to answer to GM.

Well GM's exposure has changed somewhat since the sale of GMAC but the dealer gets invoiced when the car arrives. If the car is pre-sold, GM gets paid the end of that month. If the car sits on the lot (waiting for the big kill) the dealer strings the payment to GM out as long as he can to protect his cashflow. GM takes the cashflow hit so the dealer can make 7k over MSRP.

so true... and its like GM never backs up and looks at (or cares) what is happening.

They just pay the money and dont ask questions. This is where economics is getting the best of them.

...

When will they finally realize we want to buys cars online, track them for a couple months via a website, and have them show up at our doorstep for a $750 delivery fee. The dealership is the WORST part of the car buying experience. The only reason they should exist is for repairs.

If GM's stucture was already like this, this car would not be the first car that I buy brand spankin new from a dealership.....

but it will likely be the last.... if things dont change under the new CEO.

From what I understand GM gets paid when the car hits the ground and GMAC Financing takes over then

The Hasbro/KB toy comparison is terrible. It's not the same relationship

OK look at it like this, Using Just the KB analogy is more accurate.... Let say The KB Corporate Office runs TV ads saying "Build your own" KB toy Camaro on their website you and a friend go there and build your car and it says "the MSRP of your KB toy Camaro is $37". You and your friend say "terrific", and run down to two DIFFERENT KB toy stores and place your orders. You wait months, but eventually, both your Toy Camaros arrive at their respective KB toy stores. You go to pick yours up and right there on the box is the price, $37, just like KB Corporate and the website and KB store told you it would be when you ordered. You take it up to the cashier and he says "sorry but we changed our mind and you'll now have to pay $55 for your Toy Camaro or you can't have it". Your friend at the other KB Toy store had no problems with his Toy Camaro and his Cashier charged him exactly what KB Corporate and the sticker said on the box , $37. Your more than PISSED...Who do you complain too for being charged $55? Are you only mad at that one KB store that screwed you, or are you pissed at everything KB, KB corporate and every KB Store? I think you'd be mad at everything associated with KB in general, not just that one KB store. You'd say "SCREW KB TOYS!, every damn one of them!". You'd then go to Toys R' Us and buy the new Toy Dodge Challanger instead! (well maybe not a Challenger?).

Point is, this one greedy KB Toy Store managed to screwed ALL KB toy stores and KB Corporate of any future business from you!

KB Corporate has a responsibility to protect their good stores and it'self from any stores that damage it's BRAND. Treating customers badly impacts more than just that one KB store...it reflects on the entire KB Brand name and every KB store.

It's GM's responsibility to step in and start protecting their Brand and their good GM dealers from these ass wipes that would screw over their mother if it meant making one extra dollar!

Do they still have hold backs? The concept there was the longer you had to carry the vehicle, the less you ended up paying GM.

I have had GM's back up till this point - now its over. I will never be buying a GM product again in my life, and will be looking to sell my Tahoe ASAP.

I now have no questions why GM is in the hole they find themselves.

Hello Challenger - good bye Camaro...........I'm F-ing sick to my stomach.
hello,9 mths ago challengers sold for 10,000 to 20,000 over sticker.

Be like myself selling you something on Ebay for 2k more than what I paid a guy named Mike and you blaming Mike for me charging that much.

So no...GM /= dealer.
