Footwell Lighting wiring

I just got my footwells from AAC and was wondering how to wire the LED lights so that they run while the car is running but not with the dome lighting?

It's to my understanding that you tap into the gray wire that runs behind the console.

Ah ok, I've heard gray and purple color wires on the forum and can't remember which is which. You can use the search forum button and type in "ABL footwell lighting" and I'm sure something will pop up. Tons of members have gone the route you're looking at.

I, personally, just ran mine to a constant 12v current which was separated with the factory switch/box for the lights.

I just did mine last night and just got power from the cigarette plug in the center console. Red is + and black is - and its only supplied power when the car is on.

T-tap to the grey wire from the grey block. Ground to the bolt behind the incredibly easy to remove trim panel. Stick it, crimp it, DONE! This mod was incredibly easy. If you're on the fence at all about this one I highly suggest you go for it. Easy, easy, easy! I did it with a $30 set of LED's from Auto Zone that I impulse bought. LOVE IT!

The dome light wire is the gray wire that goes into the gray connector. So gray wire that goes into the gray box. That's the dome light.

I tapped my traction control power for the foot wells and the cup holder leds. Also I bought my LEDs off of ebay. Got 8 12" strips with 15 LEDs in blue for 14 bucks (yeah, 8 for 14). Came out great, and honestly if they were any brighter I would have issues driving at night.
