Anyone with solo cats and arh shorty headers?

I just ordered my solo cats and am excited for more sound and performance. I am an LS3 car and already have Vararam Intake (no tune) power wedge, and Doug Thorley Cat Back Exhaust. I don't want to tune my car as it is my daily driver (32k already!) and I know that the Solo cats are going to net more power than shorty headers would.

I was just curious if anyone is running a combination of the ARH shorty headers and Solo cats?

What was the real gain with those headers?

Would this max out the stock tune moving that much more air?

Would this lean the car out too much?

Thanks in advance and feel free to post up any other comments on this combo.

just out of curiosity, why would you spend more than arh long tubes and high flow cats would cost for shorties and high flow cats?

It would be the best set up IMO without getting into long tubes. We've sold a few similar set ups but haven't seen any dyno numbers on them yet. Very postivie reviews though of both products the ARH shorties and Solo HFC. For Iwantone2, you still wouldn't match the performance of a set of long tube headers. You could get away without a tune but I would really recommend one with the ARH shorty headers since they have longer primary tubes compared to most shorty headers.

Thanks Juiced I didnt consider the primary length increase. Of those youve sold similar setups did either of them have a vararam intake?

I know the long tubes are right there and an easy cop out answer/solution. I know about how the ls motors like a good full length header.

I'm not looking to get the arh shorties anytime soon and am not crazy about the price tag. I brought them up because like a lot of us who want the most staying legal-they seem the most legit of the shorty selections.

The Solo cats are great, and will get you a lot more power than the shorties. From the shorty/HF cats combo, most of that power is going to come from replacing the stock cats. However, like others said, you're best bet is LTs. You can kill two birds with one stone since most headers come with high flow cats anyway.

The ARH's are the only shorty's i'd consider but that price tag is WAY too much for what you get. Even if you're trying to stay legal, $1200 for 10-15whp just isn't cost efficient. You can get a LOT of suspension mods for that price. To each his own though.

The ARH Equal Length short Headers are the Only Short Header I would consider and very well made, and come with an EO certification number, they are CARB legal in all 50 states which is an advantage.

The Aftermarket cats will require a tune and do offer some performance over stock cats but the nice thing is you can simply bolt your stock cats back on in 15 minutes any time.

Ted.

I haven't tuned my aftermarket cats, and everything seems fine. I think the swap is a little more than 15 minutes, since Solo didn't use studs on their mid-pipes.

Yes jeep guy I saw your coated arh shorty headers in another post-very nice. I'd like your feedback on your combo once installed.

I've had my solo cats on for a week and a half and am really enjoying the gains in sound and performance. I have no cel and am untuned as well.

I just finished installing my ARH shorties. The left is really easy, but if I had known how much work the right side was going to be, I wouldn't have bought them.
