I know, I know, start a fire under the ZL-1 kill it with heat soak and then the G8 would win.

585 hp vs 415 hp on the same platform with the same weight (give or take) = ZL1 win.

looking at track times, i figured it'd be a little closer than the facepalms might suggest.
ok, so stock ls3's a no-go. cam and tires? cut me some slack here, i'm ****ing LSx retarded. the big weight advantage plus tires seems like it could've been a good race. just bench racing here. and do me a favor, let's not refer to manufacturer hp ratings. i think we all know how accurate those are in the real world (especially when boost is involved) |

ZL1 should smoke it, BUT look at the times posted by real drivers. If the G8 can run 13's, it could very well win. There's a big difference between what Chevy says the car will run, and what it's actually running.

that's what i'm saying. sure, low-12's have been had in a stock ZL1 but most of the time it's in the mid-12's. the G8 is a 13-even car stock, so how much would it really take to put it into the mid-12's (ZL1 territory).

Find me someone who's run 13 flat in a G8 bone stock. What GM says and real world numbers are totally different things.

A well driven bone stock GXP on radials will run high 12s. An average driver will drive a ZL1 to mid-to-low 12s blowing the stock tires off.

Looks like Motortrend got: 13.0 sec @ 109.6 mph
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...t/viewall.html There's a difference between mag times and what real drivers are going to get the first time they go to the track, though. I doubt an inexperienced driver would be able to pull off a time like that without some practice.

Why not just do a ZL1 VS prius thread. The result would be the same. Asswhoop'en either way.

If the ZL1 is stick with an average driver the G8 has a reasonable chance.
