We had the same problem in the Mid-Iowa Camaro Club. We had lots of events and activities to go to but no one ever showed up or wanted to participate but they all wanted to complain that we never did anything or went anywhere.

I would ask you to re-think your decision rberns and both you and snakeater come play nice with the rest of us and I for one would try to return the favor with you.

Please don't misinterpret my post as again............unfortunately I don't know either of you but would like to make your both of your acquaintance before I form any opinion.

This is a young club and I would like to think if we all try............we can all get along.

Well said JD and as far as the United way show i am going to be there no matter what i even had my daughter change my grandsons birthday party to sunday just so i could attend ! remember that was the first gathering for us all !

A club that cant keep members isnt a club.
Friendship is accepting all for who they are regardless but if it isnt fun then why participate.
We all have reasons we cant do things and for what ever they are so be it. We dont have the same amount of personal time, we dont have a want to travel, we dont have the money to spend on extra gas to go someplace, we need to accept each other for what we are and get on with life and quit anything that is even remotely close to nonacceptance.

Burnsie I hope you reconsider. I enjoy going to the thursday night shows with you. I also enjoy traveling when the weather is nice and I can find the time or I dont have a conflict.
I bought my Camaro for MY enjoyment and will support the club when it fits into MY schedule. It may take me sometime but eventually Ill meet everyone.

Thanks for the invite. It would be great to have a strong showing of ICE members, since there is a prize that could be re-donated or used for club stuff.

Unfortunately, since your invite is extremly late/ virtually post show -I and perhaps others would not be able to attend in such short notice.



TO ALL:

I think we all need to understand that everyone has VERY busy lives- to include such things as family time(we all agree as often mandatory-weather we'd rather be doing it or not), normal and overtime work, recovery time between shows/events, vacations, house maintenance, and yes-other things to do.
Of course the schedules of our family members also affect all of the above too.
The mechanical and cleanliness state of our cars at the time of a potential show is a justifiable factor for some people(regardless of awards), but do agree that we are all welcome even if driven in by the 'family car', which I've done before.

I for one have started this year trying to balance the Car Events & Shows with all the other things, especially since I have invested additional $ to do so. I actually made a list in Feb of every car thing that I had planned on participating in, based upon my and you all's feed back from the prior year. It has helped, but is not perfect-always changing do to unforseen issues.
Any car shows not already pre-determined in my list, probably aren't going to happen for me- there are only so many 'free' days. I certainly will try to go to those 'pop up' ones when feasable.

People's lack of attendence at shows due to any of the above (including inclement weather) IMO has no relevence or dictates a poor support for the Club, a lack of effort or desire to hang with some friends.

We all are free to balance our own lives and should not be penalized or be-littled for making the decisions we do. It is great and fortunate that some people are free to attend more events than others and we appreciate the post results.


Those with such lives above- we of the same understand and will never question your priorities.

Anniversary on Saturday, free tickets to the quad cities air show on sunday. Not doing a darn thing on monday.
