These cars heat soak super fast so for you to compare it to a n/a car and the amount if lost et based on the temp is an unfair assessment at best and seeing how you have a blower on your car now you should already know that.

Disappointed. Not in you or the car. The title of the thread; I was expecting some new driver perspectives from a race track, er, road course. Still glad to see people flogging cars like these, that's what they exist for. Carry on.

i know the heat kills blown motors. The car still felt relly strong and I was the fastest Camaro that night out of 5 or 6. one was a 6 cyl but the others were various SS's. I think that with a little seat time and some small adjustments it will do much better. The launch control just blows my mind. The owners manul says to just crack the throttle wide open and then dump the clutch. My mind says "don't do it" but it works every time. Cool! |

It's all about seat time and know the character traits of your car.
In stock tuned car's, GM places a lot of safety protocols into the factory tune to keep everything safe. Knowing what these values are will help you go a long way into maximizing the performance of your car on the track. Launch control......I think it's a great tool for the novice who visit's the track on rare occassions, but IMHO, a seasoned owner with seat time would be able to outperform the LC features. This holds true for the Corvettes and GT500's as well. FYI....I went to the track last Saturday. Saw a few 5th gens, but I think they were base V6 cars. Even with DA's of 4660+ feet, I still ripped 11.50's in the 122-124 MPH traps speeds area on 1.70-1.80 60' short times in my C6 Z06 on drag radials. On track weather station reported 94 degrees at 11:00 p.m.
