I have seen the take the keys approach before. It resulted in a give me back my god d*** keys right now. I hate dealers, what I hate most is when they just wont listen to what you have to say.
I was only joking about this earlier. It's amazing what some people would do to get a car sold these days.

I drove to 4 different chevy dealerships looking for Lil' Blue but no one had what I was looking for in stock, I even stopped at Maxi Price but the salesman chased us down and was a real $hithead to us so we got out of there quick and drove just 25 miles further to Rick Hendrick Chevy in Duluth GA, I give them a 10 even though where were some bumps in the road in the finance dept, but that was handled by me and we got through it pretty well.
They had one 1LT there in IBM and it was exactly what I was looking for, at all the other places I saw LSs and RSs (absolutely didn't want the RS, would have just gotten rid of the lights and leather seats and wheels/tires anyways)
I would recommend them to anyone.

I'm from Ct. but I bought my Camaro from Multi Auto Mall in Union NJ, the dealers here in Ct. were unresonable in their asking price, and only offered me $800 for my 01 Camaro, that was in Good Cond. Multi gave me $2000, and I was able to get the Camaro at sticker price. Very friendly sales people, and even helped me out with my Registration when Ct. was giving me a hard time.

They sold Chevys and Caddys then, but GM got so many Complaints about their practices they shut them down, now he sells Fords and Chryslers.
I have been to more than one dealership with a friend/relative where the dealer took the keys and refused to give them back. Recently I went in a Ford showroom to look at a Boss 302 and the first thing the salesman did was try to get my keys.

When I bought my Camaro I was trading in my Mustang. I brought two sets of keys

You're so lucky you got away from Maxie Price! If you read my previous posts I had the worst experience ever with them. But they had the only Camaro my wife wanted. The only other one in America was in NY!

It was a great experience... Definitely made up for two previous experiences at the Chevy dealer in Reno. First time, my mom was shopping, and they refused to open a car so she could look at it. Second time, I was shopping for my first new car while in college. I test drove a few cars, even made it to the evil lair of the sales team to discuss price. I wasn't convinced that the car we discussed was "the one" for that point in my life, so I walked. The guy caught me glancing in another car as I left and called after me that he'd give me a BIG discount if I wanted it.

I ended up going a little ways down the road and purchasing an Ion coupe, where I was treated kindly and experienced the Saturn cheer from the team when I received my keys. The Chevy salesman had my number and followed up that afternoon... When I stated I had bought the Saturn, he flat out insulted me for the choice I made, Saturns were crap and I would know that if I had been educated, blabla.

Needless to say, I never had an issue with my little Saturn, I haven't been back to that dealer.

Nowadays, people buy cars for the sheer name and bragging rights. Kudos to you for standing up for yourself and realize "I do have a choice". Sometimes dealerships think they can intimidate women over men and get their ways. Glad to see your happy with your Saturn.

I always believe in choice and your own opinion. A lot of dealerships employees are trained strategies how to corner and minipulate customer's to get the sale. Manager's know but, stay on the low incase of emergency only they'll come out like a "Hero" and try to save the day if all else fails.

I learned in most cases that if you went somewhere else after seeing the car at Maxie Price then the other dealers can have that car moved to their lot and sell it to you.
I wish for you that you went to Rick Hendrick Chevy, there are some good folks there and they don't BS you. There is a reason why they are one of the highest volume dealers in the south.

I worked with Abdul at Robert Chevrolet in Hicksville, NY. The service was fantastic and I got a great deal on my car (invoice). They were also very helpful during the ordering process. I would definitely have to give them a 10.

My experience was great, I had bought a 4th gen from them 'Heritage Chevrolet' in Chesterfield, Va. The 2011 2LT/RS I bought had paint damage, they tried to repair to no avail. GM stepped in and tried to replace with a 2012 but it was too late to order one. Three weeks ago today I picked up my new 2013 2LT/RS CRM and like it even more than the 2011. Top notch experience!

I live in a small town and try to keep everything local. Support the little man..ya know? We purchased ours at Streuter Chevrolet in Okawville, IL ....and I will never...I repeat...NEVER purchase anything else from them!!!!! Horrible all around!!! I wanted to back out soooo bad!!!! But felt like I had to keep the car because it's a small town and see the guy all the time. Between cutting my hood with a razor blade, them not holding up their end of the deal that we made when I agreed to buy the car, them forging our signatures on the 3rd contract that they drew up and sent to the bank that ended up charging us 500.00 more than we should have paid, having to chase them down to get my money back and just all around BAD!!!!! We are in the market for a new truck in the next few months and we WILL NOT be buying from them!!! That is for sure!!
