Thanks UCF, I love my newly delivered, and soon to be in my garage (on Monday) Camaro. I have been waiting since April for it, and the lack of the engine cover and hockey stripes is not a big deal to me, just wanted to inform people. The quote is from the GM Parts orgs email the dealer sent me to explain why I have to take delivery without all the parts I ordered. I didn't mean to inflame and upset so many poeple and have them attack me as a liar.

it seems this reads that even if they have the inventory for a given order(s), they won't fill it, at this time, in order to "protect" inventory.

does anyone else read it this way?

if so, what are they protecting it from...the customer that purchased it?

Perhaps to control what parts are delivered to dealerships that may not survive in the next few weeks? Not clear to me, only guessing it must have to do with now being held closely accountable to the government for each dollar they have as an asset which would include down to every nut and bolt.

Can any dealers confirm this? Its pretty retarded that something we PAID FOR and will be FINANCING is being "held back" to "balance long term needs". I needs me the stripes I PAID FOR.

I'm in this exact situation. Do I just leave my car at the dealership and only close when the parts come through or do I close now (paying for parts I haven't received) and drive the car?
