Now that you mention being turned on end, that is how I store them and I have sat tools on the knick knack shelves while working on other things. Haha.

I'm such a tool. I blew a bunch of cash on race ramps and could have made a set of those. Dang it! Good work!

If you bought a two piece set and you are still calling yourself a tool...so be it.

So to recap, there are the Rhino ones like I have and never had an issue with, the two piece Race Ramps, and then the homemade ones.

You are not a tool. If you like them and they work then that is all that matters. As many have probably noticed around here I am kinda passionate about certain things and topics.

Funny enough my 67" 2 piece race ramps just showed up at the door. I have been using rhino xl ramps until now and I know they won't work once I lower the camaro and my vw is so low I have to take off the front bumper to get up them. Hopefully my exhaust gets here before the weekend so I can try them out.

Just in case you didn't know, if you go to raceramps.com you can download a $25 rebate form. I almost talked myself into ordering the 2 piece 67" for 321 shipped. The price is just so high that I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger, although I've wanted a set for years.

In my experience, none at all. The filter and drain hole are on the back side of the motor and pan so the back angle doesn't really hurt at all. In fact it may help, especially with draining the oil out of filter feeder plumbing.

I'm lowered and did something very similar. Base planks are around 7 1/2 foot and the next plank is 4 foot. I cut 45s at the ends so it rolls up a little better and add a 2 inch stop at the end so I don't drive off the end. High enough to get underneath for basic stuff and easy to get the jack underneath. Heavy, but I am lazy and put some casters on the end so that I could roll them around when stood up. Not perfect, but I have some change left over for more mods.

Yep, that is the nice thing about making your own. If you are lowered you can fine tune your ramp build to make them perfect for your situation.

I got a set of the Rhino ramps from auto parts shop but they're the ones rated for heavier vehicles. Work great on both the Camaro's and Trailblazer. Have had no issues with sliding and have used them maybe 6 or 8 times so far.

Those wood ramps are awesome, I will build them this weekend. And I already have the wood!

I have had two sets of Rino Ramps for many years. Used them on my 2001 Camaro for nine years. The only problem I had was after I painted my garage floor they would slide so I drilled some holes in the floor and screwed down a bracket on each side to prevent them from sliding. They do not slide on my wifes' VAN.

I bought one set at Wally World for about $25 on sale.

I went out and purchased a low profile 2-ton floor jack with 3-ton stands to do all the fluid changes this weekend. It is a bit more work than driving up onto the ramps but it has just enough low-end clearance and reach to lift the front frame's cross-member and slip the stands in. I'm satisfied with the setup.

Btw, these are the items I referred to:
- Low pro floor jack: http://www.harborfreight.com/automot...ump-68050.html

- jack stands: http://www.harborfreight.com/automot...nds-91760.html

Buying some 56" Race Ramps off of Craigslist. Got them for $140 shipped to me. Supposedly the old guy that owns them said they have never been used. Now I just need to get some Amsoil and Wix filter and I can changes next weekend. Should have the ramps by Wednesday.
