Ipod Keeps indexing?

everytime I start the car the ipod index's to the same song. Driving me nuts why is it doing this??

My Nano does it. Takes like 45 seconds before you can move it. But....my iPod Classic doesn't do it. Odd.

1. Is the song the first title alphabetically?
2. What ipod are you using?
3. What version PDIM do you have? (Plug in device to USB port and then press and hold Menu button and you will see the hardware/software version)

The PDIM treats some of the older iPods as flash drives so it has to re-index each time the car is turned on. The newer PDIM doesn't take as long to index but I believe still does a "quick" indexing on power up.

another question.....do you leave your Ipod plugged in the USB port? or do you disconnect it every time you get out of your car?

and most importantly......as Rick ask in #3 above.....this will make a big difference.

I do not unplug it I had an older version Nano in there and it never did it, Now I have a 4-5 Gen and it does it from time to time, not sure on the PDIM
