AC condensation issue ??

I live in high humidity South Carolina and am having issues with the defrost vents. It's 75F out in the morning and when I turn the AC on, it appears the defrost vents don't actually close all the way. Hence, the windshield condensates just above the defrost vents on the outside.

I was just curious if this is a design flaw or if there is an actual problem with my defrost vent not closing.

Has anyone had the same issue??

Crack the windows a bit.

The worst that will happen is you smell fresh air. People are designed to survive under those conditions.

I've had this issue with just about every car I've owned. Honda, Nissan, GM, VW. Just be happy that you have AC. If it collects too much, just flip the wipers once and wipe it away.

I figured as much. As far as fresh air... I can deal with having windows down but happen to sweat heavily. When you head into work, you don't want your shirt soaked.

Only reason I brought it up was the fact my wife's Jeep Grand Cherokee doesn't have this issue.

I think it's more so the angle of the windshield that has a lot to do with it. Typical car is more close to a 90degree while the camaro is more of a 45, almost all sporty cars have this problem.

I too have always had this issue. Its mainly because the windshield is getting too cold in that one area and the outside air is so warm and humid. Like everyone else has said run a pass or two of the wipers and no problem. I have also found that if you spray a lil washer fluid on it that usually keeps it clear for a little bit longer.

On page 8-2 in your owner's manual it states:

(Recirculation):
Press to turn on the recirculation. An indicator light comes on. Air is recirculated inside the vehicle. It helps to quickly cool the air inside the vehicle or prevent outside air and odors from entering. Operation in the recirculation mode while the air conditioner is off increases humidity and may cause the windows to fog.

Please let us know if this was the issue.
