The Camaro in this video is mine and has already been accepted as a lemon claim from GM; you can refer to my forum on Camaro5 (Serious ZL1 Defects). Already a submitted issue with GM, the ZL1 experienced electric steering loss and made a quick veer across two lanes and into a ditch. If anyone cares, I walked away from the accident, and I think some of the comments made are a bit ignorant. I would appreciate if you took this video down, as the issue is still an ongoing matter with GM.

First, I glad "CAM ZL1" is ok

Secondly, and perhaps I missed it in the numerous posts by "CAM ZL1" is I seen no previous mention of electric steering loss problem by him?

You can bet your a$$ that the computer is going to be read to determine, speed, etc at time of crash!

Wow, if the accident was due to electric steering failure I hope GM gets to the bottom of this issue. TSB?

People,

The crash thread is not gone, it is simply moderated until the site administrator can look at it... When the internet legal eagles start spouting off and threatening this and that and plotting things, it's time for the site administrator to have a look.... For that reason, I moderated the thread... until Tran can take a look at it and make a decision.

It is still there in its entirety...

Relax, there is no conspiracy or GM demands... We simply look out for the best interest of Camaro5 and our members...

Again, I moderated it,,, we can see it, you guys can't... If it's deemed ok, it will be un-moderated... if it's not ok as per the site administrator, then it will remain moderated...

I appreciate your understanding and patience with this..

I was thinking the sane thing and I hope for his sake he wasn't speeding even if only by a few mph so that they don't try to say he was at fault. Good luck CAMZL1

First of all, thank you to everyone for your support and concern. I stand behind the ZL1 in terms of its' high marks in crash-test ratings, walking away with just minor wounds. I didn't mean to ignite a firestorm of concern regarding the ZL1 in general. I am still planning to get behind the wheel of another ZL1 without reservation. As the situation is still an ongoing matter between GM, my insurance provider, and myself, I would prefer not to comment on the specifics until I know for sure what happened. I will say that I have no plans on pursuing legal action against GM. As a company, they have been extremely fair thus far.

I had no intention of making this situation public, and it is unfortunate that someone saw fit to post that video on YouTube. I'm still pursuing actions on getting the video removed. I don't feel there is need for widespread panic, and I still consider myself a 5th generation Camaro and ZL1 supporter and enthusiast.

As the situation reaches some sort of conclusion, I will keep everyone here posted. Thanks again.
