Vader,
I hear you... My first is going to college next year with my second just two years behind that so trading my 2SS for a ZL1 needs to happen now or I'll be "stuck" with the current ride. Not a bad "high class" problem... |

Before I state my reason on why I wouldn't ever trade my SS for a ZL1 let me first say the ZL1 is an amazing car and I would love to have one but I won't ever own one.
Reason #1 being with the amount of work done to my car the only true upgrade I might be getting out of it is the magnetic shocks. On the other hand though I like being able to fine tune my suspension and Pedders coilovers are pretty damn good at that... Reason #2 I like working on cars and learning new things which is why I very rarely take my car to a shop for someone else to install parts. I live by the philosophy of "built not bought" and to me the ZL1 is on the bought end of that spectrum. |

Got back from the dealer a while ago. They basically offered my $26K for my 2SS. Said it didn't matter if I traded for something else or sold it to them outright. Not very excited about that, especially since they told me mid $27K to $28K when we discussed it. As I said earlier - worst case is that I keep it. Not a bad position to be in... Funny thing is that there was a message on my phone from them when I got home. Let the games begin...
BTW, the review on the C5 home page of the 1LE has me thinking the maybe I don't need to trade for a ZL1 afterall??? |

Hard to say if I would or not. I love the ZL1 but for everything that is offered for the LS3/L99 cars an SS has a lot of potential to be just as great. But getting a chance to own a ZL1 would be hard to pass up.

Since you asked....
Is the ZL1 a very cool car. Yes. Is it worth $15,000 more than a 1LE? To me no way. If I could afford it I would trade my SS for that Camaro.

I did. I traded in my 2011 2SS/RS for a 2013 ZL1.
