provided they are not factory installed stripes, they will come with the car in the trunk and surely you could exchange with the parts department. Stripes are 470.00 thru GM

You can easily peel them off. There are several ways to do this. The easiest is to simply take it to a body shop and have them do it because they do this all the time. The other way is simply take a heat gun or blow dryer to it and peel them off. If you leave the ccar in the sun for a while you won't even need to use the heat gun at all. They are just stickers.

Not really. Unless they get installed wrong or you pick at them.

Only if you remove them. The exception being if you live in an area like AZ they will dry up and peel but that is just in the desert where all kinds of bad stuff happens to cars because of the UV rays and heat.

I'd be REAL CAREFUL about using a heat gun unless you've used one before. The last thing you need is to blister the paint on your new car. Heat guns carry a lot more btu than a hair dryer.

Do they leave a residue behind? I know when you peel stickers, they sometimes leave adhesive on whatever it was stuck to.

So the stripes will come off if left in the sun, is that what you're saying? If so, that sucks :( I would be pissed if I went to Cedar Point or something and my car sat in the parking lot all day under the sun... then I leave at night and my stripes just fly off on the highway... I dunno, this just doesn't sound realistic. Am I just being too paranoid?

If you try and pick them off after your car was sitting in the sun, yes they will start peeling off. They aren't going to just randomly fly off because your car was in the sun though. You're being a little paranoid, they'll be fine.
