That'd be awesome.

I can't wait to see multiple dyno's as more and more people get them installed.

Do you plan on doing a dyno of your setup at home once you get it back just for grins? I know by then it will also have ported heads, but I'm just curious.

You know, we V6ers have been trying to get a dyno with the magical 300 or higher rwhp number, and in some cases we believe it should have been there, but maybe the dyno was just low reading. It sure seems that it could end up being that way in your case as well. You car has pretty much all the bolt ons, yet only dyoed 5 to 10 or so HP higher than stock should on Tracy's dyno. I don't see it gaining over 40+HP with just these cams alone (but hopefully I'm wrong lol)...but at the same time I firmly believe that even if these cams provide even 20 HP more your car should be in the 300+ rwhp range.

Yeah I know this is basically a bit of a soapbox statement, but just saying

Based on the first non-billet cam fit in WildFires Commodore it looked like 40rwhp was well on the cards. As a general rule the dyno results seen on the Camaro tend to be a little higher than what we have been seeing on the LLT coming off our dynos here in Australia. With that said we are still fairly confident of seeing 300rwhp *crossing fingers*. As has been said a thousand times before though...dyno results are just numbers and is all relative. Comes down to how it feels to drive and 1/4 mile.

I had 285 hp stock at the rear wheels before I went FI. no mods at all for that number, stock exhaust too.

285 completely stock?

That's about 30 HP on the high side

Then your dyno read way high.

Its been on 2 different dynos before the FI, 285 and 283, within 2 hp, so pretty sure its accurate, one was a Mustang and one a Dynojet I believe. 6M car 2012 LFX, whay is that hard to believe? at a 17% loss of power from flywheel, that would be right on GM's numbers...

Oh I'm sorry, your right. I thought you were an LLT since we are in the LLT section. That seems about right for an LFX

Nope, still high...but that doesn't mean it can't happen. Factory freak perhaps?

With 323HP, at 15% loss thats 274rwhp. At 17% loss thats 268HP.

Anyways don't want to derail this thread.

Jarp - Actually hoping the work Vince does helps others get thru the process quicker: in talking to Matt, the tune is pretty close.

KM - I do plan on having another session after I get back to Texas but will try to closely match conditions so it may be later in the year before that happens.

So, my thought on the numbers -

My dyno run was with an Injen long tube and MRT v2.0 and pulled 254 whp which is 18.6% loss (254 / 312 = 81.4 or 18.5% loss). Tracy's dyno showed 256 whp which is 18% loss (256 / 312 = 82.05 OR 18% loss) with the TB, 3/8" iceolator, headers and tune.

However, there are several differences to note:
- air temp - 76* my run, high 80s* Tracy's run
- altitude - 612 feet Austin, 30 feet Palmetto
- Humidity - 75% Austin, high 80s% in Palmetto

My summation is there is approximately (I'm guessing) a 30whp difference between the two dynos. This is my thinking on measuring the results.

1) Cam Only Baseline established - 256whp
2) Cam only / tune final run - will yield the Cam only numbers (CO)
3) CO minus original baseline = cam only net gain (CON)
4) Heads / Intake / tune final run - will yield CAM / Head numbers (CH)
5) CH minus original baseline = cam / head net gain (CHN)

The measurement which has not / will not change is the drivetrain loss: averaged out it's 18.25% loss. Once the final numbers come from the dyno, add 18.25% and that should be a good estimate of crank horsepower.

Once I get back to Texas I can run on the original dyno will run 3 passes and average. From the numbers will be able to approximate what the bolt ons added and what the Cams / Heads added from the new totals and my original baseline.

As Can't_C said earlier - the RX crew may need a day of relaxation at the track with a certain yellow car! If the knock sensor comes into play, track numbers will show it by producing good 60ft and ET/MPH.

In the end, dyno numbers are a snapshot in time - the true test is how the car drives in the real world - and I plan to find out!

Mine rolled up 190rwkw (256rwhp) with an E85 tune, OTRCAI and headers...so sounds fairly close to yours (Tracys) Yellow_Glide. That was on an 80 degree day at a 700 metre altitude with a Dynodynamics roller set on Shootout_6 Mode.

Does sound similar - you probably gave up a little being at 700m altitude. Are you running Trifecta?

The yellow car sounds great, Tracy had to work hard to get them installed correctly, now for the tune.

Here is my baseline Dyno graph, no mods.

Sorry, but that is way to high for a stock V6. Full bolt ons minus the Cams would hardly get you this high of a power level. Is this the same place that dyno'd your car after the charger went on? If so your numbers with the IPF may be off also.
