I bought the spoiler and have polished SS wheels but the lamps and other things I passed on, don't drive at night much so the head lights are not a big thing for me. wheels and tires are pretty easy to add IMO. and you can always resell your old wheel/tire package and cover most of the cost swapping them out, paid 800 for wheels, tires, and TPMS and sold the take offs for 700. spoiler cost 100ish and installed it myself. so for 200ish dollars I updraded the two most desirable items I wanted!

If headlight halos are the only part of the RS package you want review after market vendors found on Camaro5. The dealer can do this but will cost big time as it is more involved then just changing out the headlight pods.
Seriously, you have a great looking 1LT. If you want to modify go for it but be prepared to pay far more for a little front glow. If in the future, unless you contact your insurance company, insurance will not pay to replace your non factory mods. |

Don't forget -- the RS package also has the speed limiter set at 155mph instead of 118mph. Yes, you can get an aftermarket tune to remove the LT's standard 118 limit, but then you risk losing your warranty. (insert the eternal warranty/Magnuson-Moss argument here).
Realistically, 99% of Camaro owners won't ever go that fast anyway, so it may be a total non-issue for you. I'm just stating additional facts about the RS/non-RS differences. Cheers, Kent |

The RS package for 2012+MY cars doesn't add spoiler or tail lights anymore. All cars come with them already from the factory.

shan1997 did you get the 20" rims when he bought the car? If you got the 19" rims your car is speed limited to 118 mph. When the car comes from the factory with 20" or better there is not a limiter.

I have the 19" rims on my 1LT but the speed limiter was at 155. I may not have hit the limiter but I have been in the 140 area a few times. I always thought it was the 18" wheels because they don't have a speed rated tire.

They are kind of right. You can add the features that were in the RS package, but that doesn't make your car an RS. Your VIN will still say its non-RS. All individual items that the RS package adds to the car is available aftermarket. A dealer may not want to do it, but I'm sure you can find a body shop to help you out if you don't want to do it yourself.
