Coolant Level
What is your coolant level when your Camaro is cold and hot? I checked my coolant level for the first time a couple days ago and it was only at the 1st hole on the coolant dipstick (cold). At hot operating temperature, the level was only at the 2nd hole. The owner's manual says this is normal but I find it strange since there is alot more measurement holes on the dipstick. BTW, I don't have any noticeable coolant leaks anywhere.
Is your coolant level as low as mine too?

Hello, I have notice the same thing. When the engine is cold the level is at the very minimum (I barely see it) and it goes up when the engine is hot. I do not have any leaks and the radiator fans work well when the engine is hot. If we would want to precisely follow the manual we should put some coolant in but I do not think that it is neccessary as I think everything works fine. I would like to know someone else's opinion on this matter. Ciao Marco |

Does anyone have input on this? It seems like I have a very slow coolant leak even though I see no leaks anywhere. I add about 1 cup of coolant every 4 months to the recovery tank just to keep the coolant level on the dipstick within range.

I usually keep a jug of the premix 50/50 antifreeze that is Dexcool compatible to add to my vehicles.
