If correct, why is the filter between the rails only filtering one bank of injectors?
I think you're confusing me now. Ok, this is what i *THINK* is going on:

1. Fuel comes up to the 'filter' (It's not a filter, not sure why everyone is saying that; its a tee fitting and the line comes directly from the tank)
2. Fuel goes through both driver and passenger fuel rails and out to the regulator
3. Regulator holds set amount of pressure, and the rest of the fuel is returned to the fuel tank.

Does that sound right? I'm pretty damn sure thats how its set up.

Pyro: That makes sense, from just the pic you can't see the line coming out of the bottom of the T fitting too well so it just looks like two lines with something connecting them and I think someone mentioned filter and it went down hill from there, lol. Sorry for the confusion.

Glad that makes sense, guess I sorta know what's going on with my car lol!

I was wondering what everyone was talking about a damn filter cuz I only have one under the car at the rear!

I could be wrong but I don't think our fuel systems return fuel to the tank. If I am wrong could some show a picture of the return fuel line? Having flipped my fuel rails and relocating my evap solenoid, I have not seen any other fuel lines.

I read the same thing and figure it was filter also.

I could just imaging you saying exactly that, WTH!

Man....... this has been a long week. I finally got all the machine work done on Wednesday

This morning I took the block to another racing engine shop to get it Ultrasonically cleaned. I had an uneasy feeling that there might be sanding media still in there. I had to search far and low to find a place that had a big enough tank to do the whole block. One shop specialized in racing transmission and the owner told me that after doing the machine work on the trans, they would hot tank the parts and brushed them clean but, after running them on the trans dyno, they would check the filter and it would have metal shavings! So regardless of whether I media blast it or not, I think it was a good idea to do it anyways. We bore the cylinders 15 over and it was amazing how much metal shaving came off.

Picked up the paint yesterday and the girl behind the counter said "That's going to be beautiful". We will see........

The transmission is coming out like a piece of billet. If some of you guys are wondering why I'm painting it, one reason is the paint is.....let say, not cheap! So if I have enough to do the trans, I might as-well put it to good use. Plus it's just work.

The seam you see in the pic the line between the bell housing and trans case. By the time I was done, that seam was gone and look like it's all just one piece! I just forgot to take pics of it completed. By the way, the trans case was about 2/8 larger than the housing, so it took getting rid of all the metal to make it flush.

The only thing is I under estimated, I'm going to need another 5 more minutes to get done. Synner are you keeping count, LOL.

Man, I can't wait to see your project completed. That is going to be one sweet ride!

Quick update: In response to popular request........people have asked how can I polish a transmission in 5 minutes. Well, here's how, I use three heavy duty Dremels so I don't waste time changing bits for different sections.

This is a flapper I make myself. When i get time, I will post a vid on how I do it. I know LC that you've been waiting........sorry

This has taking me a little more time........ about 20 minutes because I have literally change every counter and soften up all the lines. You see the difference better when it's painted.

Added one more thing to my "To Do" pressure clean the driveway.

That's an amazing transformation. Do you ever weigh these things before/after to see how much material you actually remove?

Thanks. I had thought about it but I don't have a scale with that level of detail, you need something that can measure ounces. Since it's aluminum it wouldn't be a ton of weight but there's definitely a lot of material that gets removed. I'd guess 2-3 ounces. Me, the garage and my workbench are covered with aluminum when I'm done. And then the compound starts flying everywhere. I don't want to think about my lungs.

I figured out a good way to hide my fuel lines. I'll post some pics later tonight or tomorrow evening (starting my new job!) Heater hoses are arriving tomorrow so I'll be sure to post some pics of my progress thanks to this thread!

btw, thanks for the info on polishing. Is there an online site that sells like bulk dremel ends for polishing? I only see the 'polishing' kit at home depot or other places.

Most everything I get is from Caswell. The bigger stuff will save you a ton of time and also a small fortune for what it would take to do it with dremel stuff.

I haven't bought from this place yet but I've been eyeballing some of their bulk kits. It's not official dremel stuff so I dunno about the quality. Wanna be the guinea pig?

http://www.widgetsupply.com/category...ing-wheel.html

I got a couple of these too. It's a very hard wheel so won't work around awkward shapes but they came in super handy on the throttle body in a few spots.

Get yourself some felt bobs too if you're going for difficult concave shapes.
