Really new to this engine and really have no clue

Bought a 2012 1lt r/s. is that a LFX ? I see alot of post about after market parts but the local dyno shop tells me there isn't anything he would trust yet. Has any1 thought about 108 octane? I do like the Cai inc intake. Who or what platform are there for tunes? I seen cat delete and such. I want to do it right so I can still be under warranty for the time being. Please help. Big idiot here

Yes, your engine is an LFX engine. There are plenty of mods available for this engine although not as many as for the older LLT. I would go with CAI Inc intake, which is what I put on mine along with the ADM scoop and washer relocation kit. I have a custom axle-back exhaust which can be heard in another post.

As far as tunes go I believe the Trifecta tune is out but I am not positive.

If you delete cat you would need tune for the codes the o2s would throw right? Axle back or Cai void warranty?

If you want to maintain the warranty, don't get a tune.

Don't waste money on race gas. With the stock tune, I wouldn't even waste money on premium pump gas.

+1 You don't need premium and why buy it with it so expensive? It won't make your car run faster or give it more hp. Waste of money.

You are an official LFX member.

CAI intake has been dyno tested and proven but I haven't seen any definitive ADM scoop improvements, but I'm sure the IAT (intake air temp) has to be lower which would have some hp gain. Removing weight and flow restriction in the exhaust helps.

108 octane wouldn't show anything but a lighter wallet and a hotter engine.

For warranty's sake - don't mess with anything after the TB or the Cats and before, and a tune will void your entire drive train warranty. Yes you can flash to stock, but if they are holding the unit, they can tell its been tampered with - not likely, but up to you to chance it.

I've always wondered if someone who knew the ECM code could build a signal modulator 'pre-out' that could be used as a piggyback tune device that was flashable. You could have a plug-n-play custom tune, and when you want to go back to stock, remove the modulator.

CAI, axle back and catch can. Thats about all you need. You can get a RX modified TB but it sounds like it will take about 3 months to get one at the rate they are making them. You will feel and hear a nice improvement with the CAI and exhaust, and maybe 20 hp between the 2. 108 octane is Pep Boys crap, dont bother. I wont even think of a tune until my warranty is up. Deleting the cats is about the stupidest thing you can do, thats just asking for trouble and warranty headaches.
I use premium but its my $4 a tank to "waste" and Calif gas is crap anyways.

Agree with everything mentioned above except for the premium pump gas. If you want the full 323hp, you need to run premium. If you want to save a couple bucks each fill up and you don't mind that your car will run with the timing retarded, run regular octane.

I know from experience that 93 gives you better mpg. And if you think about it 93 is 25/30 cents more then regular. So 18 gal x 30 = $5.40 more a fill up. Couple bucks more for better performance and mpg.
