That's my philosophy, too... a Camaro is, after all, simply an object, but if it can be the catalyst leading to unique experiences, THEN it is accomplishing something! And... this isn't 'free use of the car,' either: Those upgrades are fairly costly... And while this gig may not be for everybody (some people, very understandably, would NOT want a roll cage or a five-point in their car!), there are those of us who would love to have that, and to respond to questions about what the hell THAT thing is with, "Oh... that... mine was one of the rigs in 'Born to Race part two...'", it certainly works!

However... you got a really cool story out of the deal! Sometimes, that's what it's all about! I once let my employer use my Silverado for a day... I work for a tire company, and they needed to do some tech spec-ing on a new model of tire, to see how it performed. They said they'd go easy on it, and give me a full set of new tires. However, their "two- hour" max took ALL DAMN DAY (I had to wait for hours AFTER work for my truck to be returned), and I discovered the bed of my truck was covered with battery acid: They had loaded thousands of pounds of forklift batteries (as ballast) into the bed (way over my carrying capacity) and drove the ever- loving 5hit out of it.They DID pay for damages, and I got a set of tires, as promised.... but THAT is one little gig I won't do again! I will say, though, that every time I've been involved in a movie project involving my vehicles, my vehicles have been treated well...

... but... I had a friend who collected rare vehicles. He owned a couple of big, Russian military vehicles, that he rented out to Disney for Pauly Shore's "In the Army" movie. You may recall, if you saw it, that two big trucks were blown to smithereens and burned. That was how they were returned. And, my buddy got screwed bigtime, because in spite of having a business contract with them, he had NOT specified that the condition upon return needed to be the same as original condition! He even sued, and lost... ended up with worthless scrap metal! That was an exception to the rule, of course... but what a rough lesson there!

The fact that you consider your Camaro "just an object", is the difference between you and me. I work long and hard for everything I have including my Camaro. I have spent 2 & 1/2 years getting it to the way I want it...I agree with the unique experiences, and I have done 3 Hot Rod Power Tours, Optima Face Off event at the end of this years Power Tour...lots of driving events with the Race Team, but that is ME using my Camaro, not someone else.

As ddunerider pointed out, one of other buddies cars was damaged on the Car Show, yes they fixed it, but not worth the headache just to say my car was on that show...but if that makes you happy, have at it and hope they treat your Camaro well...

Don't get me wrong... I treasure my Camaro, too... but also have the goal, as with everything in life, of maximizing the fun, even if it sometimes requires risk. I don't have any illusions about the car's value increasing over time, even with all the TLC in the world (I do wash it three times a week, vacuum/ clean the interior almost daily, and keep it as pristine as possible), so to use it as a tool for finding life experiences is how I like to do it.

I also talked to Scott on Sun, he said that the cars will be in good hands and won't be driven hard. They will be safe and insured for the time they have them. He also stated that if we wanted to be their the WHOLE time the film is being made to watch over the cars then we could. He sounds great and just what Cuck said he's done a lot of car movies and has respect for cars cuz he is also a car lover and understand how we all feel for our cars. Any ways I'm in.

I talked to Scott regarding the modded Camaro's, and told him he can use mine if he wants. He told me he needs to get the stock looking ones first. I have no problem being up there on set for a couple days while they use my car, and let them bolt a good roll bar in too!

You probably correct... I understand they are looking for as bone- stock- looking rigs as possible, and yours does not look bone stock. I mean that as a compliment, BTW... that is one badass looking IOM!
