worked in a dealership about 10 years ago, what you described in not acceptable IMO. call GM or at least threaten to go over there heads, they will not like that and plan on going to a different dealership after that because you will never get real service from them again. they got you to sign so they think there in control, time to flip the table!

I'm going to give them a chance to make it up to me. As far as I'm concerned, filling up the gas tank in my car again (for the 2nd time) makes up for the hassles with the loaner and is a good start.
I'm still annoyed with the amount of time I have been (and probably will be) without my car, but as others have said it's worth it to have it fixed correctly. I will follow everyone's advice to insist they repaint to repair the scratches rather than half-a$$ it with touchup paint. At this point, they've been very apologetic so I'm hopeful for a satisfactory resolution without taking things "up the chain." Both my salesman and the body shop guy have promised to call me tomorrow and work things out.

Thanks. You're just up the road from me, so I imagine you've probably dealt with some of the same dealerships in the area I have!

If it was a brand new car then there's no reason for the car to have a noticeable scratch anywhere just from the lot. It could be that the dealer you're working with is just a poorly run organization to start with. As for them saying the scratches will still be noticeable, that is BS. There's no reason why the scratches should be noticeable especially after sanding & buffing.

First I would talk to the sales manager (forget the salesman)and explain everything from the loaner not having gas in it and what you were told or promised would happen, keeping in mind to be very calm and reserved. Yelling never accomplishes anything. If you don't get a solution from the manager try to talk to the owner. If not there is a formal description in the back of the car manual on how to solve disputes like this. Follow that procedure to the "T" and see what happens. It may take some time to resolve it. If you get the run around find out who the District manager is and that I believe is the next step. If you remain calm(I know, hard to do) and they take you serious they will jump through hoops for you if you make them understand what is going to happen if you are not happy. I too would be very, very pissed off. Make sure it is fixed to your satisfaction even if that means a complete respray! Keep us posted. I think in the end you will come out OK. Remember after the Government bailout of GM they closed many of the lower performing dealers and the Dealer does not want to end up on that list. You have the upper hand, remember that but keep your cool. Good Luck. Just my $.02

Sounds like Delillo in Huntington Beach.....whose service department is excellent in the art of spinning fiction. "Well, the flux capacitor was loose and the powerband was slipping...." LOL.

Laserjen if this is a brand new car, I'd take it back. You deserve a brand new, undamaged car if you're buying a new car. The runaround you're getting is bs.

Is that still an issue? From reading the fuse pull threads I thought the problem with the timing table not updating when the tank is filled with premium again has been fixed (in early 2011). I find it hard to believe Chevy hasn't fixed that problem by now when they clearly knew about it back in 2010 (from members of this forum).
