Detail now or wait

Since winter is coming soon up here I'm wondering if I should detail my car before the winter or wait until spring when the weather gets nicer again? Car would not be driven during winter months.

A good wax job before storage is a must in my book.

Agreed. Protect from dust fallout, etc.

I agree also. If it is being stored inside a good wash and wax should be done before you put it away. When it gets warmer out then pull it out and give it some TLC.

Mine will be washed, clay barred, polished & waxed before it goes under the car cover in my shop building. I also lay a tray of mothballs under it and put steel wool in the tailpipes to discourage mice. I'll add Sta-Bil to the full tank too. I don't put it up on jackstands like some people do, haven't had an issue with flat spots so I don't worry about it. It will be plugged in to my battery dock too.
Usually I drive it until mid-November when they start using chemicals on the roads and bring it out mid to late March after the spring rains have rinsed most of it off.

Always good to put your toys away 'clean & protected'. Give it a once over now.

Does the mothball smell get inside of the car?

I would detail it and protect it before storage during the winter.
