When you get the survey, make a copy of it. Then fill out the copy of the survey with poor marks, and copy the copy (so that it looks like you made a copy of the survey after it was filled out). Take that copy of the copy to the dealer. Tell them they screwed you, and you've filled out the survey as such to screw them.

I think you can see where I'm going, but perhaps give them one more time to unscrew you in writing (like, say, a $3000 check), and in return you can give them good marks on the real survey.

I'm sure they will be shitting their pants when you bring in that copy of the survey filled out with poor marks. It sounds like the possible repercussions may far outweigh a $3000 dispute for them. This way, you can essentially be the one in the charge who decides what deal is possible.

If they give you anything that you feel is not worth the $3k (free oil changes are never going to add up to that), tell them no and walk back to the car.

Just wondering what the MSRP of your car was? Trying to figure out if the $41k was actually a good deal for the car you were buying.

I didn't get a survey. In hindsight i'm pretty sure it's because of issues I had with the dealer and the sale. I'm betting you won't, either. They kept asking me to rate them highly... but I never got one, and I had issues with hail damage when I bought the car. It was interesting how that one worked out.

By the way, is that the Blue Ray Metallic?

I really don't want to get anyone in trouble, i just feel so cheated and would like things to be made right. I actually already got stuff sent to me from GM, a few different things, so we'll see i guess.

And if i don't get the important survey, and i felt like someone had just changed my address in the system or something, i would just give GM a quick call and get that info sent right on over

Not too hard.

This is going to be one of those (costly) "life lessons" that you don't forget.
It's unfortunate that you took a small, short-term mistake (not getting it in writing) and turned it into a HUGE (long-term) mistake (by agreeing to their terms).

I know hindsight is 20/20 and you'll most certainly learn from this one but it's gonna sting for a good while...believe me.

...but like the others said, Damn...I still can't believe you bought the car from them. I swear to god, I would've ridden my bike to work or taken the bus before I agreed to buy a car from someone that just outright lied to me.

Live and learn brother...live and learn.

There are a couple of dealers around here who are obsessed with their service surveys and will say/do anything to get a positive survey.

Case #1 - "We'll get you in today, as long as you put excellent on the GM survey". Wasn't too impressed with the work after that anyway, and submitted an honest survey. Never went back.

Case #2 (several times) - Would get a call/message from the service department of another dealer telling me to come in and get a free oil change while they "help" me fill out my survey. Funny thing, I was just in for an oil change and didn't need another one after a week and about 150 miles.

Stopped going to both of these dealers. Found a GM dealer that I never received a survey from, and have had some of the best service on my Suburban from them.

this tactic prolly wont work... dealership generally wont take blackmale as an option.

bottom line here... you should have #1 been there when the deal was signed for. 2# got it in writing before you sent your wife to the dogs and 3#... well... there really isnt much of a #3 to tell you the truth.

you've got to understand that it's not the dealerships fault that your wife signed at a price that was 3K more than you shook on. infact, if you have rehersed the numbers with her, she should have called you to say, are you sure. not saying its your wifes fault but i hope you get what im sayin.

you paid 41K drive out for the car... thats not all that bad considering you got a 13 2SS RS... my car on order is 40,500 MSRP(2SS RS with Nav)and i'm positive taht it'll be more than 41K drive out... and I'm an employee of GM and the dealership.

We cut deals all the time... this time it sounds like the dealership made money... next person, might have sucked them dry... it's give and take.

Wow that's sad salesman do that, but like I said they would con their own mother and sleep ok that night. I hope someone at GM notices this because that's a shame. I'd email GM incase your survey takes too long.

My wife had signed??? She didn't buy the car or sign anything, i did. She wasn't even there. sorry if i confused you somehow. And yes, i know i screwed up by not getting it in writing... i know i know... and i know you aren't going to be the last person to comment on it. Still doesn't make it right what they did though. Nor does it change how i feel. Again, i don't want to get anyone in trouble. I just want to feel better about it and not so screwed so i can enjoy my car.

Wow. I think if I was a Chevy sales manager I'd be telling the world that this guy was treated like SHIT. Lied to... not once, but multiple times, and by more than one salesman. Instead, it seems you almost condone it as part of the 'game'. I marked two more mega Ford dealers off my list of 'buy from' places a couple months ago because of this very kind of behavior... and I sure as hell wouldn't be looking for a Chevrolet in Friendswood after reading your responses. For whatever it's worth...

Yeah, there's no way in hell I would have bought a car from them after something like that. You put yourself in a vulnerable situation to begin with though. After you sold your car the dealer knew you would have to buy something else.

Sorry to hear about the experience. I would be sure to try to work something first with GM before settling with being screwed over.

Come on man they are gonna get all out of you that they can and then kick you to the curb ! Promises , promises if it's not in writing , you are not getting it ! Oh and trust me it doe nost matter if it's a chevy dealer or a ford dealer or what ever brand they all do it !
