I had a 2011 SS A6 and it was nice to just get in and drive, but there is something about the stick and the control over the gears. I would recommend to tune out the DOD and let it run on all 8. I drove to NY and there was traffic and at times 85mph on the NJ Turnpike with an averaged 23mph with the DOD tuned out. But now the car is gone and I fell in love with my coupe 45th mn6 SS. Since I have a company car weekends are for sheer driving enjoyment!!!. Enjoy what ever you choose they are all great cars.

Q: When will it shift?A: At a predetermined rpm setting and you don't have to watch a tach or shift light.
Q:How will it shift? A: INSTANTLY...Faster than you can press your clutch in and it NEVER misshifts.
Q:Why will it shift? A: Because it is programed to..and you don't have to worry about short shifting, misshifting or hitting the rev limiter.

:That's too much for me to want to think about. : Really? who has to worry? I think it may be the one manually shifting.

Full man here. Unless I make a bad decision in buying a car. Men should make well thought out smart decisions, for themselves. So they can be full men, not less. Is that what this thread is about?

[quote=Renegade] Guy's who drive a automatic does that make them any less of a man? [/quote
I dont get why people need to judge someone else based upon what they drive or whether it's auto or manual... Especially when you are making such a negative comment about people being "less than men". The only reason you are bringing it up is because you the one who is insecure about yourself... That's the only reason you have to bring others down on the site who own automatics. You CAN actually be happy without having to feel superior over someone else. No need to make anyone feel like an outcast.

I think the comment made at around 7:05 with respect to the McLaren applies directly to the topic of this thread, that

Quote:
"it's a hard car to connect with emotionally"
also applies to the transmission type. To widely varying degrees from one enthusiast to another.

That doesn't make either (any?) transmission type "wrong" generally. Mis-matched to a given individual, yes.

We have an auto because the man of the household can't drive a manual very well. THIS girl can handle a manual, I was taught by a cop.
