I suggest just put a tracking device and you'll be okay just becareful your friends don't make you the victim.

That's another thing I don't like - having to rely 100% on the electronics. At least with the key, you have to put in the right laser-cut key - AND you have to have the chip in the fob match the car. It just seems like double the protection to me, instead of strictly having a chip in the fob.

If inserting a key and turning it is too much effort, take the freaking bus, many of them have push button start so you will fit right in.
I agree with Russell James on this.

Americans can be lazy but, hey it's all about technology baby. You can even open your doors with your iPhone if you forget em' in the car now.

I'd like a push start with keys in pocket, but I don't like the idea of a keyless entry. I just like buttons

Had a rental in Florida with a push button. Found it just annoying to keep track of the remote without it being in the ignition. Not to mention hubby locked me in when he walked away with the remote at the gas station. I'm sure I'd adjust if I had to, but just seemed awkward.

My wife's Altima coupe is keyless entry & push button start. As long as you have the fob in ur pocket (or purse for the ladies) ur good to go, never need to take it out. Once you use it ya cant believe how much nicer it is. This keyed start Camaro and traditional fob is just cutting corners on GMs part. It sets right in there with no GPS option on the car. Sad really.

I would vote to keep a traditional type key...It just goes with having a car...imo...

"Here you go, son!...The fob-bob-remote to your new car!"

"Let's go for a ride! Grab the sensor-thing, and let's go!"

(Doesn't quite work for me....lol)

The following is a good natured rant aimed at members with a good since of humor, If you don't have a good since of humor do not read further......

What is it about these three things that so many of you are hung up on, V8, M6 and Keys.

OK; I understand the V8, it has its own feel that the V6 cant match. I understand the M6, it is a completely different experience from the A6. But the key, I don't get.

The key has no performance additive to the mix. The car is not started faster with a key over a button.

OH; I get it your harking back to a simpaler time when cars had rims made of wood and a crank in front to start it. Hold on, cranks did not need keys. So you must be thinking back to the first electric starters. Now that is good old automotive ex-prince. You just hop in the car and pushed that start button.

OH; thats right the push button start predates the key. That means your thinking of the time of the first 487A or as the kids call it "GTA". That would be the birth of the key, to help prevent 487A's.

Now that cars have all this fancy high tech equipment to help stop car thieves. Some of us would like to go back to the simple elegant design of the button. However some of you think that will somehow taint the driving experience.

I say its the key that has tainted the driving experience.

Don't even try and say that you might miss place the fob. Because I am willing to bet that every one on this board has at onetime or another said "Have you seen my keys."
