A farmers crops were ready to be harvested, so he hired a couple of farmhands to help him with the harvest. Otto Zuverlässige was from Germany, and was a big hulking guy who could pick and then carry several flats. Manuel Casi was from Mexico, and could only carry one flat at a time but would run from the field to the trucks in far less time than it took Otto to carry 3. He'd tire out though, and would take a lot of siestas during the day.

By the end of the harvest, Manuel had picked more flats than Otto. The farmer let Manuel know he wanted him back next year along with any friends who could match his production.

His wife wanted to know why he chose Manuel, to which he replied "Otto was more consistent, but Manuel is faster".
