Question Buying my camaro out of state

Hey y'all! I'm hoping to get some help on this topic. I live in Mississippi. I am possibly flying to Austin, TX soon to look at a Camaro there. How will the sales tax (and any other fees that might be affected) work? Will I end up paying TX and MS taxes on the car? Any info you can give me will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!!

States can be different. After purchasing vehicles in MI We only paid sales tax in our state of residence FL. Not positive but believe TX is the same. You pay in the State you are registering it in.
Good luck and don't forget to post pix!

You will ONLY pay Sales tax in the State you register the car in for Plates!

The bigger issue for many people, is whether the tax (for another state) can be rolled into the loan or if you have to pay it out of pocket upon registration.

Yes you pay the taxes in your own state when you get your tags. It sucks paying it no matter where you are though!!

I live in OH and bought my Camaro in MI. OH has a deal with MI that required me to pay 5.5% tax and I have to pay OH the remainng 1.25% tax when I register the car.
