If your car is running on the low actane fuel table from sensing engine knock then you would need the fuse pull. It will not auto readjust. |

I've had my 2013 SS for about 3 months now and have only put in 93 octane (not sure what the dealer put in it). I have noticed since early on that it is a little heavy when taking off. Not sure if this is something that a fuse pull would help with or not. Any thought?

I would also suggest an VMax ported throttle body from one of the vendors on here...It will definitely improve the initial throttle response... |

Well after reading about 30 pages of this post... I will be burning out my 87 octane gas and filling with 93. Then after I burn that out fill it again with 93 and do the fuse pull. I have a 2011 2SS/RS with the L99 (Active Fuel MGMT) automatic. My dealer told me that 87 was fine. I have been burning nothing but 87 in the car for a year and have gone about 8,500 miles. I feel now like I have been poisoning my car.
I will post up in a couple weeks with the results of my fuse pull! |

Seems like these cars are real picky about what you feed them. I can fill her up with 93 from texaco and she feels less powerful than when I fill her her up with 93 shell. When I fill her up with Shell it fills like shes more peppy.

I just completed the fuse pull and I can testify that it does wonders. The thing I noticed the most with the smoothness when shifting.

So after reading a majority of this section I decided I couldnt hurt anything by trying this out. So last night I pulled the fuses and let it sit overnight. Put them back in this morning. I havent really jumped on it today because of the traffic but I have noticed a little more of a growl coming off my pipes. Im not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. I will keep everyone posted if I "feel" or "hear" anything different.

So, I've got a 2013, and I did the fuse pull over the weekend. I can say without a doubt that the car did not feel like it was lagging today and the overall ride was way smoother than it had been. This was over 30 miles of driving today.

To quote Wikipedia: "The most commonly used aviation fuel is 100LL, i.e., "low lead". It is dyed blue and contains a relatively small amount of tetraethyl lead—though the amount is greater than what was contained in many automotive grades of leaded fuel before such fuel was phased out. As of Jan 2010, 100LL has a TEL content of 1.2 to 2 grams TEL[9] per US gallon (0.3–0.5 g/l) and is the most commonly available and used aviation gasoline. One gram of TEL contains 600 milligrams of lead." So that's up to 1200mg of lead per gallon and if you're still running cats, this would be a bad idea. |
