I had a salesman friend tell me "Friends don't let friends lease". He refused to write them, and if you wanted one, he would refer you to a different salesperson. He would rather have a leaser hate a different salesperson then get a sale. Unless you are a business and can get the tax credit for it, you should never lease.

When you turn your lease car in, they will ding you for every little thing wrong with it. I've known people who have paid more in refurb and milage costs at the end of their lease then the car was worth. You are also very restricted to what you can do to your car since you are not the owner, the lease company is. No mods, or you have to remove them at the end of the lease. If you think you are going to purchase the car at the end of the lease, it sells for FMV. You could end up paying up to 30% more on the car then outright purchase.

Don't let'um scare you, nothing wrong with leasing. Been leasing for 17 years and love it! Every 3yrs you get a brand new car,get more car for the money and you can always buy it at the end of the lease. Worried bout miles you can bump them up. If you take care of your car you won't get dinged at the end. Your car is under full warranty the whole time so no repair maintenance. Say you can only afford a LS,well if you lease you can afford a 2LT or 1SS,maybe even a 2SS. Just think while everyone else is still making payment on a Gen5 your in a brand new Gen6! Buying is overrated as soon as you drive off the lot your losing money!

i leased my camaro. then bought it at end.

honestly leasing is not bad for someone who wants a new car every 3 years or so. my BMW is also a lease. i guess people dont see the beauty in driving a new spots car every 2 to 3 years. without caring about long term problems

I'am a car guy,so love having a new car every 3yrs so it's a trade-off. I found in the past as soon as I would pay off a car I would get nickeled and dimed to death with maintenance and could never work on cars myself. It's not for everyone but works for me. To me it's just another utility like paying the cable bill. Lol

Yep,that's what i'am saying. I drive a 45k car now with a $560mo payment if I bought it my payment would have been $200 to $300 more!

I lease everything, at the end of the lease I own them, because I have the leases structured that way. It is a great way to go. IMO. And I have 30 vehicles.

If you have never leased a vehicle, or have never tried to negotiate a lease and seen what the numbers actually mean, or are listening to someone who has never done the above.....
then you might actually be surprised to learn that leases can actually be a great thing.
The hard thing is to find a dealer that really, and I mean really, wants to lease a V8 Camaro.
My wife and I have been leasing for 20+ years and it absolutely perfect for us.
