One of us likes the Challenger, the other does not.
I can agree to disagree; it's just a car anyway.

No worries.

The Challenger SRT8 has always been a car I admire. I do like my Camaro SS more though.

You might be able to argue that the SRT is priced right which I don't believe but the RT/SS price is the same and you get alot more car from the SS for the same price.

something else I don't see mentioned here, though I will admit I did not read the whole thread..

RESALE VALUE.

Chrysler vehicles are notorious for horrible resell, the Challenger is no exception, the base 6 Challengers are used as rental cars by several companies, as a result the resale of the whole line suffers..

The Mustang's also have this problem, but not nearly to the extent of the Chryslers. I have yet to see a Camaro as a rental, except from a couple of private "rent a sports car for a day" places, Enterprise, Hertz, Avis, and Budget all have several Chryslers including the Challengers as fleet cars.

I rented a Camaro from Avis when they first came out in spring of 09'. Several here have. I remember many were upset with GM that Avis was getting them first, while they were still waiting for cars ordered way back in the fall of 08'.

I did pretty well on recently traded in 10' Challenger SE. Bought it new for 22K, trade-in at dealer was $17,200, with 30,000 miles on it. I live in a northern snow-belt state, and this time of year rear-wheel drive sports car values really take a hit here....Probably would've gotten another $1000 had I traded it in just 2 months ago.

I haven't seen them for rent, not to say they are not out there, but I can go to any of 3 enterprise locations around me and pick from a 1/2 different Chryslers, the Challenger, 300, and Charger where they have no Camaros to choose from.

I have to admit that I also looked at all three myself. I was raised a GM man but have tried all. I really liked the looks of the SRT8 and the power. It came down to one thing with me. My first true love was a camaro so I went with the ZL1. Are they all a little overpriced, yes in my opinion. But a persons love should hold no price tag, within reason of course, when it comes to an automobile. I also did think the interior of the camaro over the SRT8 was nicer looking, again only in my opinion. All three are great cars, it's just which one floats your boat. For all of us that are lucky enough to own any of them, we are some of the luckiest people in the world, to be able to walk outside everydady and say to ourselves "Yes, that's mine and I'm damn proud of it!"

Its possible Avis doesn't have them anymore either...though thought I saw an Avis tv ad showing a vert awhile back.

Yep, I'm still a Camaro guy at heart too. (why I keep coming back here...lol) The Challenger was a compromise for me. I wanted a 1LT RS Camaro for the longest time, but couldn't quite swing it financially. Kept waiting for deep discounts/incentives that never came about. Also test drove four pre-owned Camaro's over the last couple years, but it just never worked out....either priced too high, or had mechanical issues....And living in the snow belt, went just went back to front-wheel drive again....Turbo Beetle. Hopefully someday.

What? From what i have seen the Challengers hold their value extremely well, and another Chrysler product, the Wrangler has the highest resale in the industry. Also, I hope you don't think GMs resale value is super high on all of their cars.

Dodge must have wisely lowered the price then because I remember shopping all 3 brands in Nov 09 and they all cost cost the same.
