Another Speaker Thread
Hi Guys (and girls), My 2010 SS BA front lower speakers have blown. I'd like to replace them w/ aftermarket speakers. Everything (in terms of the audio system) is stock on the car. I'd like to replace the tweeters and mid range on both doors. What sub $200 speakers do you recommend? I don't want to make my own brackets or anything like that. My plan was to use the "free" adapter brackets Crutchfield supplies. I've read that the BA speakers are 2ohm and some 4ohm speakers have issues. Ultimatly, I'm just looking for guidance from someone who's already been here. Thanks, Neal

I wish i could give some help, but I only have the factory BA speakers, as I have a focal system on the way. U could try Infinity, kicker or alpine. Several good brands out there

I am getting ready to buy jl c3 650c component speaker from ebay for 267.00 with free shipping. I have looked at alot of speakers and for the price point I just like the jl's better. Once I get my new speakers my oems will need a new home..

I'd ultimately like to keep everything stock and just replace the drivers (mid and tweeter) in the front doors. If I ABSOLUTELY have to, I'll install a small two channel amp to drive the components in the doors, but I'd like to avoid that if at all possible. Thanks!

I would definitely opt for a component set, not coax for the front.
There are a few options from Crutchfield that drop into the factory location with just the supplied brackets. Polk Audio db6501 Infinity Reference 6030cs They are both under $200 and have great all around sound, as well as smooth sounding tweeters that aren't too harsh. |
