Great place to learn and educate myself about this great car. Maintenance, Modding, etc. To read what other people's experiences are, know what to do and what not to do. Im 51.

why here?

Why are you personally a part of C5?

I stumbled across this website trying to get info on how long it would take to get my Camaro once I ordered it. As I would search google for various bits of info, Camaro5 kept coming up in the results. I started to search Camaro5 for info without using Google. I believe this is a great community and resource for technical info, new products, how-to xxxxx, and looking for mod ideas.

Why do you continue to be an active member?

The passion for this car is incredible, both mine as well as the members of this site. I continue to learn things about my car like how to better take care of it and what I can do to personalize it. It amazes me how even the 1st time poster who may not be familiar with the search tool yet asks a very basic question that has been covered to death; yet some very knowledgeable members still take the time to not only answer, but explain why. That is what truly makes this feel like a community. That is why I continue to come back.

What is the most important part of the website for you?

forum section. how-to instructions. I hate all the parts on a car that can be broken if you don't take them off correctly. Its nice to know about that BEFORE you start pulling on a panel...

And finally, HOW OLD ARE YOU!?

To kick ass and take names! .

Really though for the infinite knowledge about anything even outside of cars. I had a bunch of people help me with terrible sun burn here lol. And the peeps! Love the peeps even though most dislike me lol . My most favorite part of the website is "off-topic" thats where you really get to know people and can talk about anything. I've made lots of friends there. I continue to come back because it is too addicting and I LOVE CAMAROS

I am 21

I came across C5 after purchasing my Camaro. I purchased my Camaro while stateside on the 25th of Jan. I was sent away for work within a week and was going through withdrawals, so I decided to google a few facts about my new found love and came across C5. I continue to stay active because there isn't much to do in the middle east after work. I rarely get online while im stateside unless im getting on to see where the meet and greets are being held. The forced induction forum is where I spend of most of my time. Im am now 30 but joined a few months ago when I was still a young whipper snapper @ 29.

I've been interested in cars for a rather long time, and the cars that interest me the most are the ones that don't sacrifice too much straightline performance in order to get decent handling - and don't sacrifice cornering & handling in the search for ever-lower ETs either. Think "balance", and today's "ponycars" are better-balanced than they ever were.

I won't hide the fact that I drive a Mustang. But over the last dozen years I've been an active member on other Camaro/F-body forums and a couple of A/G-body forums in addition to the Mustang forums that you'd expect. If there was anything specific that influenced me to check out Camaro5.com in particular, it was of no importance then and isn't now.

I find this forum to be as busy as CamaroZ28 used to be, and while it's sad to realize that CZ28 has slowed down a lot, I'm glad to have found this site.

Mostly for the technically-oriented topics. I'm an engineer, or at least that's what I've done for most of my career to date. Sometimes it's out of curiosity about a car that I don't have, and sometimes it's because I might be able to shed a little light on something under discussion.

Occasionally, a topic like this one will come up where being at a different stage in life provides the opportunity to reflect a bit and try to describe things from a different point of view.

In no particular order, the specific performance model sections (ZL1, 1LE, Z28), this general section, Suspension/Chassis/Brakes and Wheels/Tires sections, and the Driving Techniques section.

Enough hints. Next month, I will have personally orbited the sun for the 65th complete time. But I'm still a twenty-something when I get behind the wheel in any of my cars and turn the key. Driving has been and still is one of the bright spots of any given day, and I hope that never changes.

BTW, you might find more material for your paper in this section. Good luck with it.

I was refered to C5 about 3years ago when I became a camaro owner and just never left. The information and advice you get from other camaro enthusiast is amazing. The knowledge I have gotten from this site has made me more knowledgeable then I would of ever thought I could be about camaro's...plus i have met some really cool people (and some crazy people). It feels good when you can go to a carshow in another city and meet C5 members that are your friends on C5 but have never met them in person. I luv this site and will admit I am addicted lol....I'm 48

Why I joined: Lurked for a while, researching the car. Loved the car but not sure it's practicality as a daily driver in Minnesota. Loved reading others experiences and getting a feel for the quirks and problems of actual owners and most of this stuff you aren't going to hear about from a dealer.

Actually joined when I ordered my car. Got much better information here than Chevy's tracking site. Also used it for answering my "stupid newbie" questions that weren't covered in the owner's manual.

Now I only post occasionally when I feel I can contribute something, or have a question. I don't really fit in with the hard core "car people" on here. However, I keep coming back and lurking on a regular basis for the sheer entertainment value. Most of the regular posters are a riot.

I don't really know if there is a most important part of the website for me. When I first ordered my car I would say the tracking page, and Becky's hand holding through the process was amazing and very helpful. I would have gone crazier than I did through all the ups and downs. Now, I mostly just visit the General discussions area and photos section. But in general I think most of the site's value is the helpfulness of the other members. I've asked some pretty dumb questions, and had almost instant replies, and in one case a guy even went out in his garage and took pictures of how to get the back seat out all within 5-10 minutes of my asking.

My age: 46

Good luck on your paper. Let us know what you get for a grade.

I just remembered, there was a thread a while back about ages. I was bored one day and couldn't leave my desk, so I compiled the statistics. If I did the link right you should be able to see the thread. Otherwise search for "let's get personal" as the title. It will give you more age statistics than the few who posted here.
