Ya I race very often and for about 16 years now, and no I actually like some mustangs and respect them! You just take offense fairly easy... I never said bus lengths either, but if I loose or beat someone by 3 cars then I feel its a wooping! Is it big in the ET department, not really. I call bullsh&t on allot of internet talk because I DO spend allot of time at the track and see this all the time. And the truth is all these cars can run what they should, but most of the time they just do NOT. I have actually been pretty dissapointed in the 5th gens I have seen run around here. You know how many ls3 cars with boltons I see run low 13s even 14 sec times
![]() Bolton machs run this, 5.0s run that, bla bla bla! Then I hit the track and the so called monster bolton 5.0s are running 12.8s to 12.3s with tires! 110 stock ls1s trapping 105 for some reason Same goes for 5th gens. Most of all this vs crap is really on the driver. In the end the ls1 f bodys are slightly faster, 5th gen is slightly faster then the 4th and its gonna take some mods to make a mach run with a 5th gen... but with people behind the wheels anything will happen.

I usually see you post something about Mustangs in a sense that you are very well experienced with them. I agree with your posts most of the time, but, since owning a Mach 1 after bagging on them when I owned my Cobra. They are actually very impressive cars for what they are. In the end, a Stock Mach 1 is quite a few cars behind a 5th Gen. However, a modded one, that's a different story. Maybe I will see you at the track if you are going this year. I am probably going in October to try and get a solid glory run out of my car for the year and call it quits until 2013.

I think we actually got into it before about this
I wont hit the track till next year... I gotta give my clutch a break! My last time out I hit the 12.3 I wanted and the MPH I wanted with my setup right now, so shes done till next spring and should be hitting the track with tires. If I change my mind Ill let you know though. Good luck man, I hope you do well.

As a long time Mustang owner, I've had to continually rescue 03/04 Mach 1 owners from the delusion that their 100% bumper-to-bumper bone stock cars will turn low 13 second quarters.
Witness the statistics:
Not today, not tomorrow, not ever ...

Ingot
MT Feb 05 Mach 1, 5 speed = 13.2 sec 1/4, 13.8 was an automatic car.
Care to eat the " Not today, not tommorow, not ever" statement? Never say never unless you want to embarass yourself! |
