This thing has drag slicks? With that much HP at the wheel, I would have thought it gets low 9s with drag slicks? Experts want to chime in?

Hmmm. The faster the car gets, the less gear you need. Think about it. Your going through the traps at 148 mph in your 1:1 gear.....how many rpm are you turning? Think it'll go faster shifting into an overdrive gear? Nope. So I call bs on the "it's only got 3.31 gears and has a lot left in it". You'll only believe that nonsense if you truly know nothing about fast cars.

If you think the GT500 is maxed where it's at, I'd say you are wrong. There is also a one piece drive shaft they could add, upper/lower control arms, gears, smaller pulley, etc. Sent via morse code through a fax machine

you are crossing the beams at about 5900-6000 rpm when the thing will rev to 7k. Yes a gear will help. A gear and suspension and the car would really move. A 3.73 gear would put you at around 6,600 rpm crossing the line in the 4th gear at 148mph. A 4.10 would mean to reach 148 in 4th gear you would have to turn 7,200 rpm. |
