If you can't afford the gas, you probably can't afford to own the car. IF gas mileage is anywhere on your top 10 list of priorities....the ZL1 is not for you. Nothing wrong with that. They make a 6 cylinder Camaro and an 8 cylinder that both get better mileage if that is a concern.

Heh, at least you aren't like Jeremy Clarkson.

Richard Hammond: [Talking about the Ford GT's poor fuel economy and the fact that Jeremy is getting one] And actually, 17 and a half gallon tank. 4... 4 miles to the gallon, how far does that mean you will be able to go in your car before you ran out of petrol?
Jeremy Clarkson: 75 miles.
Richard Hammond: 75 miles?
Jeremy Clarkson: Yeah.
Richard Hammond: Well, how far then do you live, for instance, from the Top Gear office?
Jeremy Clarkson: 76 miles.

Excuse me but when and who ever bought a 580 HP car and worried about gas mileage?

Not me. I did get good gas milage to and from a meet in Canada. However we did some "spirited" driving and the milage wasn't as good. Only hit the rev limiter once though. For some reason I zoned out on a straight stretch looking at the other cars and didn't shift from 2nd to 3rd LOL. I met with a group of 370Z's. A great group of guys and we are planning a track day next year.

do not feel bad, fly a plane and pay $6 gal. Aviation fuel smells better than car gas. Burn 12 hour at 175 mph as the crow flys. That's about the same as the ZL1.

Babying my car with highway and country roads I averaged 23.9 over a 60ish mike trip.

Not really a great sample, but indicative of what LONG gears can do.

I typically get in the 14-16 range.

You bet! Those born with disproportioned size right feet will attest to this fact. Having the same affliction, my AVG MPG is 12.4 over 1,150 miles.

What till you take it to the road course. A 25 minute session will cost you half a tank

I want to go to the Motorsports Park in NJ and burn the brakes off of it and blister the tires. I want to go to Englishtown, Raceway Park, with a set of rims, DR's, aftermarket performance goodies and dial in the car for some WAYBAC fun. I want...I want....., but I am just lucky to own the car and make the payments for now.
