So to sum it up...

- you can order your carbon fiber insert painted gray or exposed which is a coat of clear over the carbon fiber so you see the pattern. either way it's carbon fiber material
- you can order a stripe; it will be dark gray no matter which insert you pick
- you can order the suede package which is just steering wheel and shift knob, otherwise it's leather which sounds like what you want
- seats are standard but you can order a sunroof (if stripe was ordered it will not be on the roof w/ a sunroof)
- you can order an auto transmission
- you can order the premium wheels instead of the black ones which are standard
- you can order Nav if it's available now.

I think that's about it. Everything else is standard

I believe the seats come standard with the black leather. The suede optional package comes with the seat centers, the dash, steering wheel and shift knob. It does not come standard with any suede.

All zl1s come with suede (micro fiber) seat inserts. The package just adds the steering wheel and shifter. I do not have the optional package and my seats have the suede inserts.

Thanks Mlee,

I did not know. I have ordered one without the suede package. I did not know the suede package only included the steering wheel and shifter, and the dash and seat inserts were standard.

You're going to love it... I really wish I didn't have the suede steering wheel. It looks great but just doens't feel right in my hands. ( but that's just me, most like it).

I've had my car since April and the new car smell of those seats has not changed. My wife comments on it every time we get in the car.

the suede package confuses everone.

All ZL1 have the dash and seats that way period as has been stated numerous time.

the suede package is the steering wheel and the shift knob but it is a complete rip off because the parts add up to like $275 or something and they charge you 450 or 500.

The exposed carbon option is $600?? I think to me it is a good option becasue you could always piant that later if you want but nobody is going to want to epose a painted insert later and may have flaws that is why they choose to paint it.

that being said the black cars look great with ahsen gray inserts. every other collor I think the carbon look better but looks are subjective. the ashen gray with ashen gray insert made me kind of flaccid for the first time in 37 years. I like the contrast on the insert for some reason.

almost every car dealership though has a leather company they work with so if you hate the suede beath them up on it. dealer cost is about 1k to refinish a car in good leather 1200-1500 in premium. they make alot of these cars make them get you want your want.

Thanks mlee I feel like Im getting a bonus here! I did not order the suede option because I was concerned with how the steering wheel and shifter was going to wear. I thought I heard some members were not happy how it was wearing.Im getting really impatient waiting for this beast.

I was lucky and got to touch both and I like the feel of both. As long you keep the suede clean I like it better. I need to clean mine but after I take it to the dealer on Wednesday. My passenger side mirror isn't dimming at night...
