I think you are being smart by asking $42,000 and letting someone talk you down. If the dealer is willing to give you $37,000 and you can get more selling it yourself what the hell go for it.. Remember one thing though.. If you trade it in you will save money on your sales tax. I just traded my 2010 Tahoe LTZ and they gave $40,000 on trade. So I saved $2800.00 on taxes because where I live the tax rate is 7%. Just keep this in mind..

If they are offering you $37k in trade, take it. I've shopped dealers and can't get anywhere near that number. Highest offer was $32.5k trade.

I'm sure they are not really giving you 37000 for it. They are probably using some of the mark up in the new car to make it look like they are giving you 37,000

In the end, yours will depreciate...just as hard as mine.
damn he told it how it is

Yes Paul we have the same mileage but mine is a coupler of years newer with gfx so I'm assuming I can sell it for a few more thousand.
You should buy mine, its not a ZL1 but it will take one, and you will look cool doing it, and the supercharger is programmable so you can turn it down when you want to save a little gas. Dealers usually dont give you crap for your stuff.
I went to one I do a lot of business with they offered me 30k for mine, which I bought from them 3 months earlier and then put a ton of money into. They give you some silly reason why its only worth what they offered, and should you be silly enough to sell it to them it will be on there lot for 48k lol.

IF the dealer really offered you 37k for a 2012 Camaro SS, I wouldn't have thought twice about trading it in.
