CA law requires that the plate be permanently affixed to the vehicle.

no zip ties
no magnets
no plate in front window

I've been cited for it many times as I always refused to drill thru the fascia of my cars. You cannot have the ticket signed off as a fix it doing any of the above.

JacFab or the hidden plate deal are the only ways of not drilling your fascia and "being legal"

Get an old plate bracket from any car, mount your plate on the bracket and then take a hammer to the whole deal. Put the ugly mess in your trunk and the next time you're pulled over blame your husband/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend for boogering up the front of your nice new camaro.

that would not work they will look for the mounting holes in the bumper

Just get the JacFab mount. I have had mine for well over a year. It is very easy to put on. Placing a plate in the front windshield could actually cause you another ticket in some states. It would/could be considered "obstruction of view".
