Do you guys remember how the v6 engine covers used to be silver, then all of a sudden they went black.

This is from the GM build your own Camaro website. I selected 2LT and then selected the "Interior Accent Trim Package." Sounds to me like the website is saying it comes with the rings to match.

Includes Black interior with Inferno Orange front leather-appointed seats, accent stitching on steering wheel, shift knob, door armrest, center console and seats. Inferno Orange door trim and instrument panel applique.

i agree as well...kinda cool to be the most unique interior made yet, unless someone else has that happen to them...don't be too hasty to change it until you've taken it out a few times...

You DO get inferno orange door trim and instrument panel applique...that is the 'cove trim' on the door -- and the 'strip' of orange that crosses the I.P.

....I don't know of any printed material or website info. that we talk about the Orange Rings on the I.P.........

History:

Originally we only were going to offer Orange Accent Interior with the 2SS--

HOWEVER - several customers and one of our Disciples asked that we offer it in a 2LT.

We did - the decision was made along with others (such as Polished Wheel availability on the RS package - or Aqua Blue Metallic and Imperial Blue Metallic being offered on the SS package..... -- we listened to the customer.

BUT......go look at an LS or LT interior -- specifically at the cluster -- you will see that it differs from the SS -- esp. the fonts.

We'd already contracted for IP clusters -- there was no mention when we contracted for a V6 cluster with orange rings.....

Does this look bad? Wellll......the BLUE Rings on the 2LT will match the rest of the blue lighting on the I.P.

Thanks Scott, I'm sure it will be fine but there was something very exciting about the orange gauges and it would have been nice to know in advance rather than finding out after orders were placed or even after cars arrived and people went on for four pages about how the car was built wrong and should be fixed and the dealer was lying etc. Is there anyway we owners can fix it by ordering the orange color filter rings from the SS and swapping them out or anything? Thanks for getting us the rest of the orange package in the V6 tho!

you would have to replace the IP cluster with an SS cluster -- there are all kinds of issues doing that -- from emergency lights to a tach that reads wrong........the short answer is -- no.

The interior was a late edition -- and frankly, I don't know how we'd communicate something like that --

We added the interior because some consumers asked for it and we could do it -- and franky I wasn't aware of this issue until last week......

We ARE humans ....we DO make mistakes -- and the sad fact of the matter is that there are many less of us doing the work of engineering/designing/building/launching this car than ever before......we ARE trying to make this as transparent as possible -- we're trying to be out here to listen and to react -- (that's why I'm on here at all hours of the night -- someone's gotta do it!)

Oh well, at least the general public wont know the diffrence... as for the loyal customers, we can keep screwing them over and they will come back no matter what.

Thanks Scott for the explanation. I do understand all those that are upset though as all the pictures we have seen of IOM interior had orange rings.. Had we seen one picture of a V6 with IOM interior and blue ring around the gauge, I'm sure this would have been discovered by us long ago and less people would have ordered the IOm with the V6 or at least known what they were getting. Perhaps a replacement to an orange ring on the V6's with IOM interiors should be worked on as an option and make everyone happy who pre-ordered..

Shouldn't there be a member of the marketing/PR team assigned to be the community liaison?

Really...the little red rings is what pushed you to get ALL that orange in the interior?

No. I didn't see it offered for the psychiatrist option for whiney buyers that are spoiled and have nothing better to do but complain.

You should sell your car to someone that will enjoy it.

I must have missed something. What is the deal with the R6P?
